DarkerFalz
So, I've heard of powerslaying, but I have no idea what it is. So, if you could enlighten me, that would be nice. Also, would it be viable at my levels? I've got 83 attack, 85 strength, 80 defense, 75 prayer, 78 magic, 83 range, 74 slayer. I also have a few mil cash to spend (not much, but all my cash is in my gear). My normal gear is:Void range/meleeNezzy Full slayer helmGloryTorag's topVerac's skirtD bootsBarrows GlovesDFS/Rune defWhip/D scimmyObby cape (Going to get a fire cape/soul wars cape/probably a skill cape one of these days)Warriors ring I also have proselyte, a cannon, some cannonballs, Karils (for ranging/waterfends), Seers ring, and an Archers ring. Thanks in advance.
Zaaps1
Basically it's doing every task as fast as you can while sucking the most xp out of it as you can. ~It's Super Effective! Obtaurian
Power slaying just refers to the art of slaying efficiently. The goal is to maximize speed and offense at the expense of your wallet. When power slaying, piety/turmoil, super/extreme sets, and combat familiars are always used. I highly recommend using a cannon, too, but many players find it to be too expensive nowadays. Your gear should have a nice balance between prayer bonus and strength bonus. You'll want anywhere from a +15 to +20 prayer bonus when using piety/turmoil. Anymore than +20 is overkill and any less than +15 is wasteful. A good, cheap example of this is a proselyte plate, fire cape, and Verac's skirt. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off. DarkerFalz
So, it's basically praying piety on all tasks with a combat familiar and/or a cannon? No protection prayers what so ever? Also, does it make money, or does it mostly lose it? Thanks also. :P
Zaaps1
Or better, the Soul Wars Cape, and you can use a barrows body or bandos chestplate. ~It's Super Effective! It gets easier and cheaper the higher your slayer level is (up to 93). You'll still use protection prayers on tasks you would normally use them on, like dark beasts, black demons, etc. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off. Obtaurian
D Jay posted a while back that powerslaying still DOES profit, just not by very mcuh (2m over a few m xp) Sorry, I should've clarified that it does indeed profit in the long term, but I highly recommend doing farm runs so that a streak of bad tasks doesn't cripple your bank. Zaaps1
I recommend NEVER letting your bank dip under 5m. You need that money for farming, dailies, and powerslaying. If it ever falls below that point, you should stop powerslaying until farming, slayer, and dailies push you back up. You need some sort of money to fall back on. ~It's Super Effective! Could you give me the name of the video so I can watch it on my iPod?
Zaaps1
iPods don't play flash files either. They do mp4 and something else (whatever Quicktime files are in) I believe. However, you can watch Youtube vids through the channel, but I think those are only a select few optimized for the iPod's limits. DarkerFalz
Is it profitable in the long run to just make tons of money some other way now, and get turmoil/overloads (or one or the other) and then powerslay?Or should I continue on with piety and such now, while making some cash from farming/dailies? By the time you get the money for Turmoil + Extremes it will take a few months probably... in that time you could get 99 slayer. You should only get em if you already have the cash for it IMO
