Barb Fishing?

Featured Replies

Could someone please tell me what the difference between barb heavy rod fishing and shilo fishing is in xp? Everyone seems to recommend barb fishing but i found that the fish give the same xp and you can make a small amount of money from shilo. So why would anyone do Barb heavy rod?

you can get sturgeon from heavy rod fishing, which gives more fishing xp than salmon + trout.

barbarian fishing also gives strength + agility xp.

Because it is faster. Not by that much though, at 94 fishing I usually get around 65k/hour with a granite lob, I've heard 70k+ is possible.

Trout and salmon give 50/70 exp each, while leaping trout/salmon/sturgeon give 50/70/80 respectively. There's probably no real reason to do heavy rod fishing until you can catch sturgeon.
