When soloing, I should be going for max range + melee defence, right? So veracs skirt + helm + karil top is good?

Good make sure you have a zamorak/sara item for kc

It's worth noting Verac's has lower range def then the other melee bros, iirc -10 for the helm and -10 for the skirt, if that's worth the prayer bonus is up to you.
