Alright so I decided to try out JAD.

I don't have too much money for this, ~20M

So this is what I cooked up.

 

Inventory:

Guthans (Not helmet)

16 Super restores

2 Range pots

6 Sara brews

Purple sweets (150)

 

Equipment:

Karil's top

Guthan's helmet

Verac's skirt

Rune c'bow

Diamond bolt (e) 1000

Full Guthix book

Dragon boots

Archers' ring

Fury (lent)

Black d'hide spiked vambraces

 

Is this a good setup for someone with the below stats?

Why guthix book? Zammy would be better as your be praying against things that can hurt you (more or less) or your be dead... The 360's and Jad will own you without protecting and anything below that you can heal of or at least safespot then heal once you kill most of them.

 

Also might be better just to forget veracs skirt and wear the guthan legs and have an extra inventory space, extra restore or something.

 

Biggest thing is to familierize yourself with the prayer switching and calm your nerves.

I can pray just fine, and I'm extremely calm.

Guthix book and Zammy book have the same bonus for prayer do they not? And guthix has +2 attack, so it's a cheap median in my opinion.

I'm able to post as I want. As for the helpfulness, try using broads instead of diamonds all the way through. It will cost a lot less.

As for the zammy book it provides a better attack bonus. What I am talking about in the bold is defense isn't as important as attack/prayer bonuses for fight caves. It helps but an extra inventory space at your levels would go along ways than a little bit more defense. Especially when we are talking one barrows item to another.

 

To put it this way. You get to the end of the fight caves extra defense in your legs is not going to save you if you run out of prayer.

I made the diamond bolts myself, so it didn't cost too much. I have already made them all. :P

Zammy books best book for anything. I have all 3 and use zammy book or something else completely, guthix/sara books have always sat in my bank. So you wont regret it.

Alright, I usually use rune defender. But that sure as heck doesn't give a prayer bonus. Thanks for the input guys!

Zaros prayer book is still best range and mage offhand unless I'm missing something anyway! If you dont want to do the slayer levels first just take a cheaper bolt untill you get to jad, or at least the 360's.

And how do you get the Zaros prayer book? Does it give prayer bonus?

Using diamond bolts is a waste of money, even if you have them you should sell or save for arma.

Alright, arma will take far too long in my opinion, so I'll sell these for broad-tipped bolts.

How many do you suspect I need? 1~2k?

Get 1k broads just to be safe, I personally used 600 until I stopped ranging the fight caves.

I feel obliged to say that Guthan's sucks. All-ranged is the way to go.

 

That being said: the Guthix book is not as good as the Zamorak book but the difference is too small to worry about. It sure is worth getting but don't postpone stuff because of it.

 

You could certainly use some higher stats; you can do it but I'd recommend 80ish range and defence and 70ish prayer. Don't let that stop you however, just go ahead and try.
