73 to 77 mining?

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Well i got 73 mining not to long ago and im not 6.7k short of 74. I would really like to get 77 so that i can start mining concentrated coal. I've been doing Granite and Iron mining but im really burned out on it. So i was wondering what are some other fast way's to get my mining up?

P.S : I have the Varrock Armor 3, Rune Pickaxe, and Penence Horn (normal not master) at my disposal.

Thank you ahead of time,

Jax

Well Granite and Iron are really your best options. If you'd like to mix up your training, look at my AoW Mining guide. There are multiple methods for both, so you could switch between methods to keep yourself interested.

You could also avidly hunt stars. They're fun and the closest thing to being able to "afk" mining. Not to mention, it's a fairly easy 150-200k or so to pocket every day.

Doing shooting stars is definitely an alternative way to go, if you don't mind waiting a little longer for your mining levels. Camp out in one of the star CC's and train something else in the meantime, this will lift the only real restriction of shooting stars (the limit on how often they appear).

Other than that, you're already using the two best methods at your level. You could also use SC picks, I wouldn't suggest that though as prototools are much better used on hammers/needles.

I sympathize, I held a mining cape in higher regards than an RC cape, pre LRC.

Even though the LRC is faster mining xp now, it's still pretty damn slow.

OT: Yeah, basically stick to granite/iron. It's the fastest for now.

Gold is around 45k-55k/hour from 85+, if you bank the ores. Which means almost no work.

I can't see how that could be considered slow. What does granite max out at, with 99 mining and a lava titan, a little over 70k?

55k xp/hr is definitely one of the slower 99s, when you compare it to everything else. Only skills that are slower are RC, Slayer, and MAYBE farming if you include waiting time (which you shouldn't, since it's not actually effort required, and you can get 72k xp/hr+ just by opening Tree Pods for an hour). Fishing too, perhaps, if you're doing rocktails, although Barbarian Fly Fishing is 60k+/hr.

Thus, mining is the 3rd or 4th slowest cape if you use conventional methods.

If you don't use conventional methods (eg. you mine granite like a pro and get 80k+ per hour), then it's a medium-low speed 99, but then you get carpel tunnel...

Gold/addy north of Keldagrim is good or the gold from the "Between a rock" quest, you can bank it with ring of charos quickly with the boatman.
