Hi everyone. I'd like to get my fishing up from 81 (as the title suggests :P). I've gone from about 70-81 previously at monks, and I'm there atm, but the xp rate seems hideously slow. The money isn't that special either, so I'm not too bothered about profit until I get to 85/90 ish. I just want to get there as quickly as possible (but obviously I'd prefer to bank over dropping). So what method should I use? I know about barbarian fishing and fly fishing at shilo, but I've never actually done either of these before. Are these better than monks? Oh, and should I move straight onto cavefish at 85?

Well, ruling out dropping, I'd use shilo.

 

It's fairly close to a bank, depending on which spot is up.

Thanks, I was leaning towards there anyway. Does anyone have any xp rates, or a rough estimate of how long it'll take to get to 90?

Personally I did Monkfish from 76-91, but If I could do it again I'd do Monkfish til 85, then Cavefish to 90

 

Monkfish max out around 30k xp/hr with maybe around 100k gp/hr

Cavefish are 30-40k xp/hr and about 150-200k gp/hr

 

I personally wouldn't bother with Shilo/Heavy Rod fishing since you lose or gain little money.

Fly fishing is in the 40k xp/hr range.

 

Heavy rod is in the 50k xp/hr range (not including the bonus agility and strength xp) although I've heard reports of higher or lower rates--it varies a bit more than other methods because some people drop faster than others.
