Quagsire
Hi. Currently 38k until my 2nd Chaotic and I've been leaning toward's maul and c-bow, but I'm not sure which What i'm here to ask is how useful both weapons are, and I'd like people who actually have one or the other or even both to reply to this because everything else will just be useless. So to all you chaotic maul/cbow owners, what are they useful for? How much better than a lower form of them (rune crossbow/any melee weapon (whip, godsword, etc))? And if you do have both which would you recommend? Thanks.
SirIzenhime
I don't have either Maul or Crossbow, so feel free to disregard this. The way I see it, the crossbow is good for Armadyl, solo Saradomin, Dagannoth Prime and TDs.The maul is good for Team Bandos, Saradomin and TDs (although any melee chaotic is good there depending on your style) Fisher/Woodcut------Me-----Miner/crafter----Stabber----Leecher ^Golvellius must be so proud^

That's basic knowledge which doesn't help because It doesn't explain how well it does and things from experiences. Topic is still open for suggestions please. SirIzenhime
because it's not like I was just blowing hot gas. I've seen people use them, and there's nothing wrong with Basic knowledge, considering it's usually right  If you want an explanation.. cross bow is better because it's more accurate then the Rune one, that's all there is to that oneMaul works in large bandos teams because if the team is large, you'll usually only get 2-3 hits off, and you want a higher chance of them all being good hits (this is for teams of 5+, if you aren't into large teams, you'd want CLS), as for saradomin, she's got high defence, and the maul is the most accurate weapon. Sorry for trying to answer when no one else had yet  Fisher/Woodcut------Me-----Miner/crafter----Stabber----Leecher ^Golvellius must be so proud^

So buy whatever item you would get the most USE out of. You cannot simply compare two items like that because they have different uses. Thus the crossbow may or may not be more commonly accepted as better than the maul to the public, but what if you do not do what the public is doing with them? Thats what Sirizenhime is saying buy the weapon you will use the most... For a given situation that it is good for. Not whether someone else says oh the maul is awesome. *rolleyes* Feel free to hate on my statement too I dont care. :wall: Please Visit my Blog!- Experienced Monster Hunter - Forced Retirement Staker - Privite Chat is always ON -1 Draconic Visage 26 Dragon Drops 1 GWD Drops 17 DK Drops 13 Coinshared Items

Please don't assume things as you obviously have not read correctly. What i'm trying to do is to find out how much more useful maul and crossbow are to other alternatives and I'd be making my choice on that, nowhere did I ask for a comparison on both. Obtaurian
It really depends on what you do most often. What do you do most often? Obviously if you go to Arma and Sara GWD a lot you'd want the crossbow. You might even consider the rapier because you're not 99 slayer yet (u mad), and it'd be useful for DKs, killing minis at GWD, and frost dragons. Do NOT start flames. > Danqazmlp Edited August 24, 2010 by Danqazmlp To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
