THE FISHERMAN ATNAM

After a long journey from the east, Atnam, the great fisherman and merchant has reached the Fishing guild! Not surprisingly he has come here for fish, and along him he has brought new baits, fishing rods and harpoons!

BAITS

Monkfish bait:

Makes you catch monkfishes same speed as trout or salmon

Cost: 10 trout for 1 bait

Karambwan bait:

Makes you catch Karambwan same speed as trout or salmon

Cost: 10 salmon for 1 bait

FISHING EQUIPMENT

Sharp harpoon:

20% chance of double shark catch

Cost: 10,000 noted lobsters

Fishing level requirement: 70

Short fishing rod:

30% chance of catching double trout or salmon (no extra experience received)

Cost: 10,000 noted tunas

Fishing level requirement: 50

Long fishing rod:

10% chance of double rocktail and cavefish catch.

Cost: 3,000 sharks noted

Fishing level requirement: 91

NOTE: All of the fishes must be catched by yourself. You can not just trade the fishing catches over, you must have the recorded amount of fishes. In other words it means you have to catch the amount needed yourself to get the fishing tools, you can't just buy them and hand them in to Atnam. This also applies for baits.

You will not get extra experience for double catches.

Fish is the plural of fish

I like these. I'm not sure how efficient it would be to use any of them, but it could add some variety to the skill.

Finally some feed back! This suggestion is to help Fishermens and womans. It will help them earn some more cash. :shades:

i could see how this could be good for the fishermen and women, but the people that want xp would just rather not get a short fishing pole and that, but you could always keep the trout pikes and other fish

The once was a mexican called pepsi,

Or maybe it's just he had Hep C,

He was a pretty cool bro,

Bros generally are you know,

He hailed from the land of 'taters,

He was known to hate many-a-hater,

He likes a girl named Lacey,

His thoughts about her are kind of racy,

And also his dad likes to [rooster].

Short fishing rod gives you 30% chance of receiving double trout or salmon making you get those fishes faster. Trout can be traded for monkfish bait, which makes you catch more monkfishes (faster speed), and salmon can be traded for karamwban bait, and it does same thing for karambwan fishing.

Fly fishing is already a fast way to fish, so you do that and get good xp. And you trade your trout and salmon for baits and get even more good xp. I was thinking the rate you get monkfish/Karambwan would be same rate as trout and salmon (if you use the baits).

You get more experience and fishes, and have a variety of fishes to fish, not just camp at one.

This is an interesting suggestion, but for the most part people have very little reason to try and catch two trout or salmon at the same time. It is already fast and most people don't do it for the gp. It's also interesting to note that you can already catch double sharks by barbarian fishing. Essentially fishing takes so little effort that these items would only be attractive if they gave experience for the double catches. They would make trips shorter and give less experience, but most people would rather get the full experience at the cost of some seconds.

Afterthought:

Some similar items you might consider that would have very real value to fishers would be bait that makes salmon more likely than trout or harpoons that only catch tuna/swordfish. Any item that allows a separation of the now combined catches (such as tuna/swordfish) would be a valued addition to a fishers tackle-box.

In a world where your feet touch the ground, only giants have their heads in the clouds.
