99 Mage

So after doing a few barrows trips, I've decided that I'd like to get my mage to 99. I have 102m so cash really isn't an issue, but I would like to not lose a lot or even profit (always a good thing). What are some viable ways of doing this? I have access to all three spell books.

Thanks

Finally on here to update that I have officially quit! It's been fun.

Stunning and alching at the same time gives 140k xp per hour, and is not overly expensive (3 gp per xp at the most if you're just alching something simple like gold bars). However it takes a lot of concentration and is boring.

Simple stunning gives 100 xp per hour.

Hunter Kit gives very fast (not sure of the exact rates) xp, however it costs about 5 gp per xp or the like.

Barraging is expensive, but it gives fast xp.

String jewelery gives decent xp, and is semi-afkable, since one click dpes your whole inventory. It is also not too expensive.

Plank make is faster than string jewelery, but it is more expensive, and not afk-able.

Whatever you do, do NOT do alching unless you absolutely cannot stand doing anything more than spam clicking, as it gives only about 50k xp per hour I believe.

Those are the most common options.

Barrows items: 2 Verac's helms, 1 Dhorak's Greataxe, 1 Dhorak's platelegs, 2 Karil's leathertops, 1 Karil's crossbow, 1 Guthan's chainskirt

I'll probably do string jewelry. What is a fast way to go from 76-80 magic? It's been awhile since I've trained it.

EDIT: Never mind, going to do teleother in W2

It's not good, but it's not that bad. Isn't it more like 75k xp/hr?

yeah its like 1200 casts p/h.

Also @shangdi, plank make is LESS expensive then string jewlery most of the time, due mostly because its non-afkable. I would burst/barrage rock lobs because if you don't you'll kick yourself later when you need charms/hp xp

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

use this spreadsheet for any gp/hr and gp/xp questions. It's about 122k+hp+charms bursting and 165k+hp+charms for barrage.

There's a good guide, in the AoW I think about bursting/barraging. I agree Aeil on the bursting thing; unfortunately, I don't exactly know the costs >.>

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.
