Wearing one of the following items will prevent most of the monsters from automatically attacking you:

• Zamorakian spear
  
• Godsword (with Zamorak hilt attached)
  
• Cape of Zamorak (mage arena)
  
• Staff of Zamorak (mage arena)
  
• Zamorak vestments: robe top, robe legs, mitre, cloak, stole, or crozier (treasure trails)
  
• Zamorak d'hide, coif, chaps, or bracers (treasure trails)
  
• Zamorak platebody, full helm, platelegs, plateskirt, or kiteshield (treasure trails)
  
• Zamorak robe top or bottom
  
• Unholy symbol
  
• Unholy book (Horror from the Deep quest)
  
• Zamorak mjolnir (Making History quest)
  

 

Zamorak arrows also provide protection, and may be ideal for melee slayers on spiritual mage/ranger/warrior tasks, as it requires no meaningful adjustment to a standard slayer outfit.

Thanks to 0xE6, I've confirmed that Saradomin arrows do have a similar effect on Saradomin-aligned NPCs. Unfortunately, I do not have a proof shot in the Saradomin camp as yet.
