veziv
What are some cost-effective, fast, and/or fun methods to train ranged at my levels? I currently use steel knives for easy slayer tasks, and cannon at green dragons (drops pay for cannonballs). Are there ways that are faster and don't cost a fortune? Nifflin
If you get two more slayer levels and do smoking kills you can cannon baerrant spectres in the smoky well. You will profit and it will be better range exp then either of those methods. Use a ring of dueling and a slayer ring to bank. Use a terrorbird to let you carry more herbs per trip. PM me in game anytime It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet. That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying. Quyneax
A magpie will give you more valuable drops, and is preferred. If you train off-task (recommended, as ranged slaying besdes cannon is rather slow) you can chin; your level is a little low for it, but later, with void (deflector, elite), acp, sw cape, maxed ranged gear, high (85+) levels etc. you'll get 350k+ xp/hr. Macaw, not Magpie. The Macaw improves herb drops, the Magpie forages jewelery. Cannon at aberrant spectres is good without making you go broke. You'll be able to profit easily from the herbs -- try to take only ones worth 5k each or more to minimize banking while not losing too much money. The only difficulty might be that you pretty much need a slayer helm (I know you used to be able to do without it, but I thought I remembered reading that that was changed, so I don't really know) to survive down there, but you might have that for all I know. veziv
Nifflin, thank you for your advice. I'll try the spectres after a few more slayer tasks. Quyneax, thanks, but I asked specifically for things at my level, so advice that can only be used after I more than quadriple my ranged experience is not particularly applicable. Mischlings, thank you. I'll try the spectres when I can. (The problem with dragons is that if I bank all drops, I spend too much time banking and dodging revenants, but without banking I'd go broke in a couple hours.) Quyneax
Abby spectres, kniving yaks are good for your level. But I still highly recommend you cannon slayer tasks (dagganoths, bloodvelds etc.) until you feel like chinning.
