Crop that slightly, and put it into black and white.

What part would you cut off? Or do you mean resize?

I think #4 is the best. But you really need to edit them.

Here's my take.

If you can afford to, and are shooting in RAW, always underexpose day scenes! That way, you have more freedom to increase the latitude in post-processing.

Example:

Bandos drops: 20 Hilt | 22 Chestplate | 21 Tassets | 14 Boots

Any guides to editing them? because i suck at it

1. Resize first

2. Auto Levels

3. Brightness +5, Contrast +10 (variations on that same sort of ratio)

4. Try gradient maps out (but set to screen/lighten etc and lower opacity)

5. If you've got a lot of noise, try using noise reducing filters in GIMP/PS (they don't usually do much, so blurring the noise where the photo isn't in focus anyway works well)

6. If you think the photo isn't quite there, always try black and white. In fact, try black and white for like, every photo you take. It can improve an image hundredfold.

Does the 450D have a Highlight Tone Priority function? Since you're crushing your blacks anyway, you won't notice the increased shadow noise resulting from HTP, and it looks like you don't have Lightroom.

A few tests I did with HTP just now:

Could you briefly explain what HTP is?

It basically lets you have more control over the highlights (I'm guessing - I own a 450D too).
