My PC Keeps Closing L4D2

I recently got everything set up on the computer I built, and it runs very well and there doesn't seem to be any problems. However, when I play Left 4 Dead 2 my PC keeps closing the program after 10 minutes or so. It only started doing this today (as opposed to yesterday), but it's done it 3/3 times I've tried, so I figured I'd ask.

I bought the game on a disc, and if it makes a difference, I've only been closed playing No Mercy map. The other map I played worked fine. I think it may be a Steam thing - I've heard Steam isn't always reliable.

Thanks a bunch - all help is much appreciated.

I get this problem a lot, and I believe it is a problem with Steam or the game itself. It happens aswell on TF2 to me whenever I get a kill (which is rather annoying). Maybe a re-install (if you can do it - I know you can re-install virtual Steam copies) will work?

Alternatively, and I know what a loss it is, maybe you should avoid No Mercy (however great the campaign it is).

My drivers were installed yesterday >.> from the disc with the card though (Radeon HD 5770), so maybe there's new ones online. Where do I find them?

Also, it just crashed on the first campaign (Dead Center, I think). Almost exactly 10 minutes in ¬_¬

I'd prefer not to reinstall if I don't have to. I know I can though.

Download drivers from www.amd.com instead, so you are sure you're getting the latest ones. Just a tip.

Is it just this game that's doing this? If so, have you checked for patches on their website in case it's a known bug?

Well, according to Google, A) MY COMPUTER IS INFECTED CLEAN NOW (fml. I think I'm good though.) and B) The problem can be solved by turning off multi-core processing under options. I've done that - I'll see how it works tomorrow when I have the time ^_^
