CLS or Maul for Safe PvP

[Runecrafts]

With these stats, which one would do better off in safe pvp (where everyone has full bandos)? (Clanwars, fight pits, etc)

99 Strength

99 Attack

99 Hitpoints

88 Defense

75 Prayer

No overloads/ext/turm/ss

 

I dont have a divine to go with the cls either.

Do you have dfs? I seem to remember that shields beat the defender in safe pvp, so cls + dfs might actually be better than maul. I'd get maul regardless, but you may want to consider that.

I wouldn't do that, just go for maul, way more fun imo.

I think most people would say maul, but after extensive experience in PvP i would say CLS, especially if you don't already have rapier.

 

Why?

Shields are crucial in safe pvp.

If you need extra accuracy, you always have the option of using a defender. No such option for maul.

Veng kickbacks are very dangerous when using maul

Maul's main benefit is that it can be used for KO's; however, it is not very reliable. CLS is meant to be a DPS weapon, and it does a good job at it.

 

Of course, you can always just use both maul+CLS or maul+rapier, if you're pro enough :)
