tigershelby2
So, im thinking of taking a little break from runescape, and i would like to maybe try some long term investments (3-5 months). I have 17m, with 10m in MTK since i plan on keeping my membership, and probably 10m or so in items (whip, FSH, general gear). So what kind of items can you see rising over the next few months? I know that updates and such can totally throw off predictions like this, but as of right now, what kind of items should be steadily rising. Also, if you have heard anything about updates that would cause prices to shoot up (like new prayers/potions) that would help alot. Norriie
Many people will probably say stock up on smithing items (bars, ores, etc), since the skill is pretty long overdue for an overhaul. But it's all speculation, really. Most weapons/armor will probably continue slowly falling. The only guaranteed solid investment would be a rare, but you don't have enough for that. green9090
There's an update to the smithing skill rumor that's been floating around- if it ends up like herblore, smithing training supplies would skyrocket like crazy. Gold ore, iron/mithril/addy bars, etc. The issue is that the update might not come out, or it might suck and cause the stuff to reflexively crash from all of the people who had the same idea as you dumping their stock. Like anything else you invest in, it would be a risk. tigershelby2
Gold ore seems like a good idea. Anything else? I really dont wont to invest all my cash into one item unless it was a sure profit, which would mean it wouldnt be Barrows: Verac- Helm, Brassard x 2,Torag- Body, HammersKaril- CrossbowGuthan- BodyAhrim- Hood, Staff
halo475
Invest all your cash into the talisman at the biggest dip, then sell when a merch clan triples it's price, it's gotten me from 500m to 1.5bil =] just means you have to check back to see when it's rising. veziv
My guess for a long-term item would be something like Amulet of Fury. It went up a lot already, so you are unlikely to make much money on it, but on the other hand, it's unlikely that Jagex will introduce anything that obsoletes it (just look at the stats on other amulets), and unless they un-nerf tokkul, there will not be many more coming into the economy. Or find another item like that. The main requirement is for the item to be very useful, unlikely to experience a surge of supply, and have price that either stabilised already, or is still going up. The standard disclaimer about taking investment advice from strangers applies. :P PS You could also go with something like Dragon Bones, because people will always be trying to buy Prayer levels. However, that carries the risk of Jagex introducing a more efficient way to train. The risk might be small, but it's something to be aware of.
