December 3, 201015 yr There are now spirit shields, which can be read up on on the KB, and shields from Dungeoneering, which are probably not worth reading on. For melee, there are a lot of new weapons, unsurprisingly. Godswords, chaotic weapons, Korasi's sword and dragon claws come to mind.Magic has gotten huge boosts, with necklaces and staffs that can give up to a combined total of +35% damage, magic potions that can give a further 21% boost and a staff with a 15% damage boost that can halve melee damage for one minute with its special attack.Nothing much has changed with ranged since Armadyl armour. The Dark Bow now uses 65% of the special attack bar.Prayer has a whole new book and a couple of prayers from Dungeoneering.Herblore is now insanely useful and obscenely expensive.
December 3, 201015 yr Author I took a look at the new prayers, WOW thats pretty awesome, unfortunately i'm only at 70 prayer so I don't have access to most of them... hmmm Also took a small look at dungeoneering, seems really big and confusing right off the bat, especially since it's a skill and what looks to be an elaborate minigame combined. Herblore was one of my favorite parts before I left, What level would be worth shooting for? 96 overload looks amazing but that is sure to be expensive and time consuming, i'm not extremely rich only having aobut a mil. Is making "Pures" still important or is pking still rather lackluster without putting millions into it? Any important quests I should get done? December 3, 201015 yr Well I'd get, in order of descending importance: quest cape, all stats to 70, chaotic rapier & frost dragons (85 dg) and then make money for whatever you want to buy, 95 prayer and 92 herblore being good choices imo. You can use spicy stews to boost herblore by 5 (almost 10% chance) or 4 (about twice as common). That basically cuts 100m+ from the price of getting overload. If you need money, farming is great easy cash. How long would it take me to get to 85 dungeoneering for them and why are they good money?Is the chaotic rapier better than the abyssal whip?The chaotic rapier is a whip-speed weapon with +94 stab and +101 strength, as well as a secondary +78 slash. Frost dragon bones are currently ~16k each and they're cannonable for around 150 kills/hr without a yak, or 200 with. 85 dungeoneering will take a fairly long time. It's fastest to use tears of guthix until ~50 then train for real. Check some guides for strategies. I don't know how long it would take for 85 dungeoneering, frost dragons drop frost dragon bones, the highest pray xp giving bones in runescape (180 xp each 630 on a gilded alter) and they are worth a lot. YES the chaotic rapier is the same sort of weapon as the abyssal whip just stab based and a lot more powerful (as you would hope for a level 80 attack weapon). [spoiler=Goals]Quest cape: Complete! December 5, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the responses guys, Think for now i'll focus on getting summoning up a bit selling my dfs and switching back to my rune defender(Dragon soon? :o), then i'll get my dungeoneering up to a decent level, prolly get the chaotic rapier, then i'll probably get my slayer/combat skills up, then get dungeoneering to 85 and kill frost dragons to fund prayer/herblore.
