Can I boost my runecrafting level to 91 from like 86 and gain double the amount of nats? Thx

You don't NEED 91 to do the task.

Anywhere up to 91 you have a chance of double nats. 91 is only when it becomes 100% definite you will get 2 per ess.

 

But yes if you boost it works.

Is this true? I thought that you had a chance for some extra runes up to 91, but you would never actually get double until you were at 91.

You have a chance for each essence to make 1 more rune than it should.

 

So if you take 28 rune ess to make nats, each 1 of thoose 28 has a chance to make 2 runes.

As you approach 91 the chance increases (as at 91 it becomes 100%), which means it is possible at any level to make a full load of double nats just highly unlikely.

However it is something that will happen fairly regularly once you get into like 89 - 90 zone, so the task is doable before 91. 91 just 100% gurantees you will get enough runes from ess to do it.

However, note that before level 91, you only have a 60% per rune to craft a double nat. I was thinking the same thing, "why not just get a lower RC level and get lucky?" The answer is, well, you have to get really lucky.

 

60% chance per rune for 28 runes = .0000614% chance to successfully complete the task at 90 runecraft.

 

So I just got 86 and boosted. Worked like a charm.

Where does 60% come from, cause at a guess I'd say atm on nats I am averaging around 30% double nats and im only lvl 74

Nats start at level 44 and double nats is 91, half way between the two is 67.5 so if level 90 is 60% 74 should have more than a 30% chance.

I thought nats were 54 not 44.
