December 13, 201015 yr I bought a mbp for college a few months ago. I figured it wasn't running runescape at the college because everyone shared the same internet. But recently I've been home and it is doing the same things ( crashing, slow and choppy). I just checked my fps and its hovering between 9 and 10. Is there something wrong with my laptop :/? Specs of it:Processor Name: Intel Core i7Processor Speed: 2.66 GHz If you need anymore information on it I'll do what I can :\
December 13, 201015 yr Please no MAC vs. PC discussion. Go fight somewhere else. Anyway. I have a 2010 MacBook Pro (i5 2.4 Ghz, 4 GB, Nvidia 330m graphic card) and it runs pretty smooth. Maybe try installing newest java support for mac. + Saxon is right :P
December 13, 201015 yr Use Firefox instead of Safari. For some odd reason it doesn't work on Safari for Mac.
December 13, 201015 yr Author Well java was the first time I tried seeing if it was outdated, but its not. I have Firefox not sure if it is much different from safari :x And I love my mac, its just obnoxious to play runescape on.
December 13, 201015 yr Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I just want to point out that Safari should not be the issue, as suggested above. I also have a MBP and RuneScape runs flawlessly for me on Safari. I'm not sure what the problem could be though :( Have you played any other games on your laptop, and if so, do they behave similarly to how RuneScape does? - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
December 13, 201015 yr Are all your drivers up to date? tripsis, I only suggested that safari was the issue seeing as many mac users had told others to use Firefox because of that.
December 13, 201015 yr Are you on the dedicated graphics or the Intel integrated? It's definitely not your hardware (or the OS for that matter), as I run RS on full settings sans particles with a 2.4Ghz C2D with an nVidia 9400M.
December 14, 201015 yr Author How would I find out if its on the dedicated graphics card? Honestly the slowest I've ever played runescape.
December 14, 201015 yr I believe you can manually switch between the two in System Preferences > Energy Saver. Though I do not have a Mac with dual GPUs, so I could be wrong. To the above, Safari previously had a bug with Runescape where, when loaded as a 64-bit program, it would not display properly. The obvious solution was to load Safari in 32-bit, but the switch was not too intuitive for regular consumers. Meh, I still use FireFox for Runescape despite the fixes to Safari.
