When I try to post this image (http://img208.imageshack.us/i/atfgbasemapxboxhueg.png), I get an error that reads "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board.". PNGs have always worked before, any ideas what is wrong?

 

 

 

Right click the image and select, 'open image in new tab' or 'copy image url'

I believe the issue is that when you click on the link you posted ( http://img208.imageshack.us/i/atfgbasemapxboxhueg.png/ ), you are not actually brought to an image. Instead, you are brought to an ImageShack page that contains the image, but also a lot of other stuff. What you need to do is on that page, copy the direct URL, which can be found on the right hand side. That URL ( http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/1577/atfgbasemapxboxhueg.png ) is different from the one you mentioned and should work

To see if it is a real picture you need to follow these steps:

1) Look if .png is on the end of the link

2) Nothing may be after .png not even a slash (your link contains a slash, thus means it is not a real picture but a page named after a picture)

3) If there is a question mark in the link it is mostly not a real picture.

Question marks in the link don't necessarily mean it's a php page - any web based programming language can use query strings, so it could be anything.
