Questions on PVP Gear

1. Do they degrade on a per tick basis or in increments of 1 minute? If I use a VLS only to spec with, what is the max number of specs I can theoretically get before it degrades?

 

2. How does reselling used PVP gear on the GE work? Let's say I alch my Morrigan's Coif after using it for 55 minutes. If I buy a new one, can I use it for the whole hour or only 5 more minutes?

They work in such a way, that if you take the weapon/armour piece into use, it will use one of it's 60 "charges", and you can fight for one minute. If you start a charge and fight for say 30 seconds, it will use a full one minute charge. So you can have 60 minutes of fighting with the item, if you use the full minutes.

It will work for the full hour.

Oh, so 240 specs with VLS without spec restores.

But if what you're saying for the second is correct, I could just resell my VLS everytime it's close to degrading, buy a new one and get a full hour? Seems too abusable to me.

Like barrow items, you can't sell/trade PVP gear after it has started degrading. The only item (that I know of) that you can sell after you use some of the charges is the ring of forging; and that's simply because the "charges" or whatever you wanna call them, are tied to the account itself. If you buy a ring, use it the max number of charges minus one times, sell it, buy a new one, it degrade after one use.
