December 20, 201015 yr Hello I am a Mac Book Pro user, when I play RS, the CPU overheats rapidly, so fast the fan can't kick in on time. If your a Mac Book Pro user, what settings do you have RS set up on? Reason why I posted here is due to RuneScape changeable settings, my MBP CPU heats up to different temps depending on what settings I have. If I know what settings you have, maybe a pic? then I can copy them and be able to play RS again.
December 20, 201015 yr Moved to Tech & Computers. We also need to know what MacBook Pro you are playing on.

December 20, 201015 yr Author I have the same computer I think. These are my settings, and it runs fine:can you try it on openGL and tell me what happens?
December 20, 201015 yr Whenever I go to opengl the computer can handle it, but there is no minimap. It's just black
December 20, 201015 yr Whenever I go to opengl the computer can handle it, but there is no minimap. It's just black That's a bug, happens when you update to 10.6.5. Jagex are working on a fix for it, though it's more likely we will have to wait for Apple to fix it. "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
December 20, 201015 yr Are you just concerned about the fans revving up? That's normal. I have a 2008 MacBook w/ a 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo and a 9400M nVidia Geforce IGPU. It runs Runescape at the highest settings (both in Software and OpenGL) but the fans go up to 6000RPMs.
December 20, 201015 yr Helps to play in firefox. Since you didn't say what browser your playing in. December 22, 201015 yr I believe FF works on Macs too. If you are having problems with the CPU heat, you may want to turn the CPU usage to medium or even minimal. I find it funny how a $1000+ laptop has a hard time running runescape...

I find it funny how a $1000+ laptop has a hard time running runescape... It doesn't have a hard time running Runescape. Anyway these are my settings, CPU usually sits in the low 70s and fans vary between 2500 and 4000 rpm (will go higher if I'm in a busy spot like the GE).
