For what it's worth, when I was gathering data to see which factors influence dungeoneering XP and factors don't, I did kill a few Bovimastyx during one dungeon just for giggles. Got exactly the same amount of XP as I did in another clear of that floor where I just left 'm alone. Like other people have said, killing them's a waste of time, and that's why people don't bother with them. They don't reduce XP or anything.

 

As for using bones on altars, personally I only bother with dragon and frost dragon bones. Guess the lesser bones do provide a nice XP boost for lower prayer levels :)

No one kills them because they don't need to....it does not lower xp...I can't believe people still believe this [cabbage] of a rummor....[bleep]ing [developmentally delayed]s....

Killing dinos helps you figure out which of your teammates are noobs
