In the Dungeoneering place, I just found out that players can use any bones they find off of dead enemies and use them on the alters for extra-bonus Prayer exp. This isn't just an additional point on top of whatever the bones are originally worth, this turns a normal set of bones from 4 exp to 18 exp. This might not sound like a lot, but it greatly helps when trying to get those hard to earn Prayer exp points. The occasional big bones are much much greater, but I do not have the exact number. Hope this helps

Not worth the time unless you remember to hold onto dragon bones, honestly. On the other hand, in groups all the prayer exp goes to you.

Regular bones and bat bones aren't worth the time picking up, however prayer doors give some nice XP. If there's a dinosaur next to an altar, I'll take a couple hits to kill it and get some nice prayer xp, but holding on to all those bones is hardly worth it and slows everyone down.

remember, on tipit the average combat lvl is above 50, so knowing that the community is higher level is a good indicator to take these ideas to the rsof or some other low lvl forum

Thankfully, however, Tip.It Forum is a great community for all players, no matter what their combat level is.

If no one posted tips for lower leveled players, the forums would be somewhat skewed towards one direction, and a large chunk of players would have a hard time finding advice to fit their needs.

There's a high chance that at least one person will find help or learn something new from every topic, so I would be a little weary when telling people to go find another forum.

It's great for free play and their ridiculously slow prayer gains, but even then it shouldn't really be done because an altar doesn't always appear.

But hey it's a good tip nevertheless. Also, normal bones only go from 4 to 18 xp because normal bones are actually 4.5 xp in the first place, not 4. All bones have a x4 bonus attached to them.

Its an alright tip.

I never have a chance to take bones to an altar.

If they implemented harder dungeons and rewarded you more for killing things then this would work better.

It's funny that on RSOF there is an elite forum that most players can't access.

And its full of the things that most players despise: narcissism, trolling, and JAGEX GIVE ME STUFF.

This forum needs more new players because it's getting stale like efficiency.

Killing the dinos instead of trapping reduces floor exp, and it's usually not worthwhile to trap them so I just leave them alone.

More OT: Already knew this, but still a helpful hint when the occasional dragon shows up.

EDIT: To below, I've heard it around the community both here and on rs, even if it isn't true it reduces the amount of rage quitters and I don't usually get much out of killing them anyway.

Killing the dinos instead of trapping reduces floor exp

No pic, no proof.

I tend to pick up dragon bones if I know there's an altar at base or have one gated. Never bother with any other bones though.

It's worth it to grab dragon bones and offer them up, but anything smaller isn't worth it.

Also, why are people still spreading lies about killing Bovimastyx*? It doesn't lose you any xp.

*Is that the right plural? Bovimastixes? Bovimastices?

This seems most useful to soloers like myself, but like was stated above, would slow down a group too much.

I can't get the dg guide up on this computer, but can't members make altars in the construction hotspot in the home base room?

EDIT: Home now on my much faster computer and connection, and yup, members can make their own Altar. Whether the cost of 5 Bovistrangler branches and 5 Zeph bars is worth the extra exp is up to you and the kinds of bones you get, I suppose, assuming you have the construction skill to make it.

Personally I take dragon bones whenever I see them. Imo it's worth it. It takes some 2 seconds to actually pick up the dragon bone. If you manage to bring it to an altar, you score some nice prayer xp.

If you run out of inventory space while they're in your inventory, just bury them. The prayer xp isn't bad by any means, considering that it's free.

I could probably understand justification behind doing this with big bones too, and maybe bat bones at low prayer levels.

But normal bones are a big on to the too-common and too-low xp side, I think.

You just wait one day the Dinos will strike back, I heard Dinos not reducing XP is a glitch, and that they're going to take away 10k DG xp, from every dino on the hidden dino kill counter which will be featured on the hiscores.

How stupid can people get? Killing Bovimastyx does NOT REDUCE XP. It's not worth your time killing them because they don't drop anything good and don't count towards Guardian Doors, but they DON'T REDUCE XP. I don't want lies to be spread around on a forum where people go for advice.
