Yew Seeds - Payments Questions.

Featured Replies

Hey there. I just got back from a break, and im wondering if Yew seeds + Payments is worth it for Farming experience these days? Or should i simply do Supercompost + Yew seeds?

Using payments would put me at 100m for 99, from 92. Whilst without it'll land at about 65m. Question is. Would to many trees die, equalling to the price of payments? Aka 40-45m ?

Are you including herb runs in your daily trips? If not, they could easily pay for the yew payments.

If you did, well from experience i can say i don't have many problems with dead trees. The fruit trees are the ones you should try to pay farmers for, because their experience is based on a half days work, wether yew you can plant at least 12 a day. Besides, using scroll of cleasing (if you have one) should get you some seeds back in the long run.

I was actually trying to avoid farming herbs for the last half of farming.. I got sickly tired of it x] But if the death rate of yew's are like 1/10 i'd rather just buy a few more yew seeds :)

Grimy's spreadsheets put the death rate at 15%. So you'd be looking at a 15% increase in cost (although due to luck this could 5% or 25%)

(65*.15)+65=74.75 mil.

To reach the point where payments would be worth it the death rate would need to be over 53% to reach the 35 mil difference between the two costs.

In other words you would need to have the worlds worst luck.

My question is what's the rush? You've unlocked everything the skill has to offer already. Better to farm snaps or torstol and make bank getting to 99 eventually whilst you achieve other things.

Wtf...what are you talking about fruit trees exp being based off of half a days work? Trees take longer than 8 hours to grow, so even if you're awake for 16 hours straight your not consistently going to be able to plant and gain the exp for 12 trees every day. And why bring a scroll of cleansing up? Its not relevent at all, its used for making unf pots....

A fruit tree takes 14 hours to grow, that's basicly a half days work multiplied 5/6 (cant remember how many patches atm). And i meant scroll of life. And ofc you don't need to be awake 16 hours straight but its super easy to do 2 runs a day: midnight first planting>14-16 hous next planint> 8 oclock next planting, etc.

Skiller11101.png

If you plant at midnight that brings you to 2 in the afternoon for your first harvest/replanting. Another 14 hours is at 4 am. Nty, so given you wake up early enough to play a little runescape (7:30) before classes/work starts you will get your next one at 9:30. 14 hours to 11:30 where you will be in classes or at work. Its silly to say half a days work when to hit it every 14 hours (which is already over half a day) you'd have to completely mess with your sleep cycle and have no time commitments for the rest of the day.

The most that's feasible for anyone in school or having a job (such as the OP considering his comments on how busy his life is) is maybe getting two harvests in every other day while its much simpler to just do it once a day.
