This is downright incorrect; BTS did claim this but the main news post and since confirmed in FAQ and in various jmods they have NO connection to time.

They drain only by xp gain; which seems to work out to around 100*level per 1% (eg trianing a lvl 86 state makes 8,600 xp per 1%) however it does get messy when u train many stats (eg most combat as it includes hp) as both stats effect the number.

 

I am 100% certain of this I been training at bandits with mine and I've now just had to go repair my barrows armour pieces which were fully repaired when I started and I still have 25% charge elft.

I'll have some other crewbies look into this as well. And no it's not downright incorrect, as it's "around", not exact. And it does have connection to time, as they only last a certain time. There's no time limit, no, but if you use them constantly, it'll be a shorter time than if you used it here and there.

Yes but the reference to time is irrelevant how long they last is purely based on xp.

Among all of my friends (mostly maxed or near maxed combat people) its not where near 10 hours. I mean I'm high 80s and I've got over 15 hours out of em and people on my list pushed the 20+ hour mark.

Was that CONSTANT usage, or varied?

Thats constant usage.

It was confirmed in the FAQ for tht weeks update the gloves drain rate has nothing to do with time used. Only xp gained; which is tied to the level in the skill you train.

 

Loads of people confused on this one cause jagex said it would be 10 hours in BTS and left it there evn now, despite the fact the gloves obviously changed last min as they have no link to time at all.

I'll get the time limit taken out of the entry, and look into the formula a bit more.
