Purist Ftmfw - Runescape Purist Blog

 

Hey There! This blog is for Purist ftmfw, a Runescape purist. A purist character is a character who does not trade with other players and doesn't use the Grand Exchange. I started this character about 3 months ago as a casual project, just a challenge to see how far i could get like this and its turned into a full time character because I've enjoyed it quite a bit. Nothing too special has happened so far, this is more of a progress blog than anything.

I purchased my rune chain, skirt and long from the Champion's Guild Runite store and farmed the gold for it by Fletching and completing tasks. Unfortunately rune shields aren't for sale so I'm stuck with the Mith square for the moment.

 

My current goals are:

 

Complete some quests... unsure which ones though, I just need to catch up with them cause I'm starting to fall behind

55 fishing

50 slayer

 

Ill post any achievements and any good slayer drops/clue rewards here.

This sounds like a cool but weird idea.

 

Even if you got some nice slayer drops/clue rewards - wouldn't you still not be able to do anything with it?

I think that a lot of this game involves interaction with other players (or at least the GE) and boycotting it wouldn't really do you any good.

 

However, this is a pretty original idea - best of luck if you do decide to go on with it!

As i said, its more of a challenge than anything, i still play my main account which has all the freedom that comes with the playing the game. I actually got the idea off a player called "Itam 69" who has quite an impressive version of this character, i suggest you check out his blog, the stuff he does is crazy.

Not original, the concept is a DIYer - Do It Yourself-er. Do everything on RS sans trading players, GE or buying items that players sold to the general store. Takes a very unique person to stick to it though - personally, it'd be rather interesting to try.

Thanks a lot :) Just getting started atm, i think that's the hardest part, especially when i got my first slayer task involving poison, had to farm chaos druids for marrentill. Definitely annoyed me haha, but its good fun, give it a go if you have the time/patience :)

Yeah, i figure till i get a nice shield drop im gonna be stuck with it lol... unless i feel a serious need to train my smithing to extremely high levels... which... i dont lol :D

 

Oh and grats on 98 herb, if you dont take that break enjoy your 99 grind :\ lol, pretty pro :)

So ending my day now, managed to achieve:

 

50 Attack

44 Strength, 1.7k xp to 45 :)

46 Constitution

39 Slayer

41 Fishing

20 Herblore

Earned 9k coins from slayer, and also got a white/gold mystic hat :)

And I'm currently slaying Pyrefiends, cross my fingers I get a rune chain drop haha.

Ran out of food though.. going to fish till i have 250 cooked lobbys, hopefully get 45-50 fishing.

250 lobbys fished now, got me to 46 fishing. And while slaying managed to pick up some steel boots to replace the old irons :D

 

And just hit 45 strength! Woo :) time to attempt Dragon Slayer!

Haha yeah :D I thought creating one from scratch was the way to go.. DIYs are actually quite fun, and Itam is amazing at it lol

Thanks! Yeah im not too sure it'll work well in F2P tbh, money making options are way limited, and i struggle enough for cash as it is.. though I am a tad lazy on skills atm :P

Dragon Slayer is done! I now have my rune plate :D

Alright so after I got my rune plate I haven't been up to too much, i went back to slayer and have had a couple of alright tasks, now on green dragons, which are proving to be difficult but im banking the hides so future planning haha :P

 

My stats are now:

 

50 attack

50 strength

48 defense

48 constitution

42 slayer

31 prayer

I've been diy/purist for a few years. I've just started too many new accounts in the last 3 years though to get anywhere...got a decent one on the go now though.
