New Pker

Mainly all I have done is boss hunted for fun/money. I want to get into pking, could anyone give me a good idea for a setup, im decent at switching so hybrid would be fine. Also i don't want to risk my chaotics or expensive gear .... seeing as Im just getting into pking. So basically a low risk setup that would work well with my stats.

Rune with claws/ags/korasi's sword maybe?

Get some friends and go pk poor saps in the rev dungeon. Bring teleblocks. It's super fun.

That leaves Boots, gloves, and cape. What should I use in those spots? Climbers for boots?

 

Also is it viable to Hybrid maybe using range ? Switch to Dhide top and Hc ?

I wouldn't advise starting off PKing with korasi's. If you really want to get the feel for PKing, I'd advise rune fights with a Rapier and DDS. If you do that, you'll get the feeling for weapon switching and such, and when to eat, ect. But if you want to use korasi's, go ahead. I don't know who all you'll actually get fights with aside from other korasi sworders.

 

As for your setups, depending on how much you want to risk I'd drop the glory for a str ammy depending on desired risk. Use rune RFD gloves, and addy boots. Of course, the gloves can be switched for barrows for the additional str at the cost of an extra 95K~ per death.

I would advise against climbers, because that extra 1 str bonus for the cost of an extra 50k loss on death isn't worth it in the least. Plus you miss out on the def bonuses of the addy boots with climbers.

Lastly, for your cape, legend's cape is good for it's dirt cheap price. Though team capes allow you to attack people who are wearing a different one and are a higher level then you. Though it doesn't really matter for you because you're already 137 combat.

 

As far as hybriding goes, range is pretty good. And you're going to want to have dhide top and bottom anyway for melee because if you're in rune, it'll be too easy for someone to get a freeze on you.

 

The general accepted setup for hybriding is rune plate + legs, mystic top + bottom, and black hide top + bottom. With of course an ancient staff, and other general maging stuff.

I used ks/climbers/barrows gloves/glory (e.g. against all good advice Razzkun wrote up above). It's possible to get in fights even then (heck I used a unicorn) but it took 20 minutes :P.
