  1. Hey! Haven't been here in ages, but i'm sure no one remembers me so i'll just move along with the question. Can you refuse the exp from MM? I recall seeing an update on the 07RS home page months ago saying that they made it possible. Which upset me as i had already completed it to make a Zerker pure(Would have rather been able to refuse the exp and make a rune pure). Well i returned to 07RS and made a new account members thinking i'd have to start over. However i'm seeing some conflicting information saying that you can't refuse it. Clarification?
  2. Officially retired from RS and Tip.It. I'll be dropping by here and there probably as i want to do some questing on RS3 as i have time. But besides that, thank you, everyone, for the memories!

  3. Hey guys, I've been dormant for quite a few months now. I started on 07RS' for a while, but then abandoned that project and basically RS entirely. And now it's coming to light that i'll most likely never have time to come back to RS and play it as much as i have in the past. Simply due to a full time Monday - Friday job and IRL friends taking up most of my free time. In total, I've clocked 203 days and 23 hours into the game just on my main. That's not counting the at least 100 days I've clocked in various other pures and accounts. I've had an amazing time with this game, namely with the friends I had made. I believe most of them have quit as well, as EoE seems to be dead(Logged into the chat and saw no one in it. Which is depressing to see, as i have no idea how this happened). But honestly, it may seem cheesy but i'll think about and miss our skype conversations and crazy chat banter in my daily life. As of right now, i plan on signing in occasionally and doing a few quests. As this is one of the things i miss the most about the game. And the RS3 alpha looks promising, i may come back for a little while when that hits. But in my entirety, i'm mostly retired. Thank you Tip.It and EoE. For everything. You made this boring homeschooled kid's life a lot more social and enjoyable. And i will think about all you guys and this game(That practically made my childhood) often. -Hexiled Razz
  4. Reviving this from yesterday, i finished Shield of Arrav and have done 90% of Heroes'. Now i just need a partner to get the armband with. You CAN help someone if you've already finished the quest. I've done that multiple times. So if you're feeling generous, that would be awesome. PM me in game! "Hexiled Razz"
  5. I don't think that's correct, because when i checked the shop, around ~260 bolts were left(only 40 under max stock) and the price was 18 each. But every archived database says 3 - 18 =S And i was fairly certain that one of the reasons the bone cbow was good for training was because it was faster than a traditional crossbow?
  6. I remember the Dorgeshuun crossbow used to be REALLY cheap for range training. But it was nerfed because bolts were raised from 2 GP to 18 GP each and they limited the stock in the shop. Although, did they change the stats on it? Is it still powerful/fast enough to use it over a yew bow with bronze arrows? I recall the bolt strength was somewhere between steel and mithril. I'm not sure on the crossbow speed, either. That's basically the deciding factor. I would buy it and test it myself, but i'm a bit short on cash and don't want to spend the 2k if i can get my answer here =P
  7. Is there any database that has the stats of equipment pre-eoc? Also, in terms of DPS(mind you this is 07RS) is a long sword of a better-tiered metal better than a scimitar of the leaser-tiered metal? Eg: I have a mithril scimitar and I'm training on rock crabs. Is it better to buy an addy long sword(or even an addy sword) and train with that?
  8. Eventually you'll be able to send your ships on voyages that will get you experience. How good this experience will be, remains to be seen. Also, it would be good to hunt down scroll pieces in case the creation requirements for the armors and scrimshaws are boostable(stews, potions, etc). That immensely cuts the experience and gp cost for getting the levels required for creating the armors. And besides, it's the best armor in the game. Might be worth getting a hold of. It gives you a goal to invest your money in(rc, smith, craft). Besides, if you're enjoying it, why question why you're doing it? Just have fun! ;)
  9. Drinking a prayer renewal + overload at the same time will give you a better idea of how many kills the overload will last. The prayer renewal lasts the same time as an overload, but has a 30 second warning before its effects disappear. Normally your potions will last about 2 kills with your stats. 3 if you're lucky and quick with your kills.
  10. EEE is the final upgraded version of the Enhanced Excalibur. Which is essentially the off-hand version of a abyssal whip. http://runescape.wik...anced_excalibur DPS stand for damage per second. It's basically a term used to rate a weapon's effectiveness in dealing damage. EDIT: Beaten to it >.>
  11. Stabbing has the largest tier gap to fill in terms of 1H than slashing does. So i'd advise rapiers if you *have* to go with duel 1Hs. There's a debate going on that vine whip + EEE beats out duel CLS in terms of DPS. But if they're even close enough for people to debate about it, then i'd say duel CLS isn't worth the 300k tokens when rapiers seem the better investment. [spoiler=General guidelines to all of the chaotics] Maul is generally the best first choice. Then your second/third/so-on-and-so-forth spends varies based on your playstyle. Cstaff for heavy maging. Though it's only 30 accuracy behind an Armadyl Battlestaff, and 50 behind the MUCH cheaper polypore staff. Duel CCBs are useful since rune is the next best practical offhand crossbow(D crossbows are still pricey and rare i believe), and an armadyl crossbow is pricey. But a Royal crossbow is far superior if used with abilities. I'd advise only getting 1 hands if you use momentum a lot. Rapier has the largest tier gap to fill in terms of 1H than slashing does. There's a debate going on that vine whip + EEE beats out duel CLS in terms of DPS. But if they're even close enough for people to debate about it, then i'd say duel CLS isn't worth the 300k tokens.
  12. Mostly just the promissory note(Which i think summed up to 1M exp?), a double exp weekend, any skill pendants you could have won on the SoF, and any December days you may have missed out on using your festive aura. Besides that, i don't think there has been any other free experience.
  13. Maul seems to be the most balanced if you use abilities. Get a Zspear and GS and you're good to go!
  14. This is false. I've done it myself and I've watched a friend do it post-eoc. You will need this: http://runescape.wik...wiki/Frozen_key to get into the ancient prison. Details on how to get it are in the article. Buy ceremonial so you don't have to get kill count in the ancient prison. Just bring your 4 darts and a BoB in case you get a large unnoted drop, and a couple sharks in case you can't step out of the way of her Wraith in time. Spam click nex when she spawns and you'll kill her before she'll get a chance to attack you. Rinse, repeat 4 times.
  15. I think it's just down to the most common weakness spread across all the monsters in dungeons since all 2H weapons of the same tier are matched power-wise. I'd suggest getting a primal maul if you have 99 strength, since that's the earliest primal 2H you can get. I honestly prefer magic because it has 4 different styles that have to be balanced among all the monster types, while melee only has 3(To a lesser extent, range has 1. Very under-powered in DG unless you have a hex). So i think on an average you come across more mage-weak enemies.
  16. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Equipment_tables Choose a slot, then sort by type.
  17. I just got 200k tokens for my 3rd chaotic, and i'm wondering what i should get. I have a maul and rapier already. I have a healthy cash stack, so i can easily invest into an ABS. That lowers the usefulness of the CStaff. Same with the CCB, i could get an armadyl crossbow easily. But an offhand is a possibility, that way i could duel wield and not worry about being bound to T50 bolts. Off-hand rapier seems useful, as i don't really have a good offhand stabbing weapon. But not many monsters are weak to stab, and the ones that are i can easily Z-spear. Frankly I've been thinking about getting a CLS and eventually an off-hand so i can diversify my bossing capabilities by having the best stabbing and slashing mainhand weapon. Any advice?
  18. Go with the maul. Duel wield is vastly under-powered compared to 2H(Plus you need 300k tokens for MH+OH). And plus, you can maul pretty much any melee-weak task with only a 15% accuracy penalty(Or better yet just get a Z spear and BGS).
  19. Switch to a SoL or Polypore. Staves are vastly better than wand+book due to the fact that the damage boost of staves outweighs the speed of wands. Since it boosts your abilities' damage too, and you can use those regardless of your weapon's speed. And only use a shield if you're having trouble surviving. I'd use Divine storm, but i have no idea how good the polypore spell is. I'm fairly certain that DS is better, though. It's a more affordable and less powerful version of SoA. Barrows gloves are still pretty good unless you want to buy the respective nex gloves, or have the Dominion tower gloves. Karil's is the way to go for Range. But be forewarned that it degrades MUCH faster now and costs more to repair. However, it would still take hundred(s) of repairs to equal the price of Armadyl. Remember though that the EoC has just been released, and the meta-game community still has yet to come out with solid factual numbers on everything. So this advice should be taken with a grain of salt ;)
  20. The fate card items, and i think some of the EXP boosting SOF items? Like the pumpkin amulet? I'm not quite sure on that last one though.
  21. Hell of a lot cheaper and the prayer makes it a superior armor. Only downside is that barrows degrade faster now and are more expensive to fix(It would still take you hundreds of fixes to equal the price of a bandos set). So if you die a lot, or find repairing annoying, bandos is a substitute. However that money is better invested into other things. Warrior ring is the best for melee now. Zerker is just a watered down version that also has crit% for range and mage. This stands for both imbued and non-imbued versions. Sara whisper is still best melee amulet, but an extra few mill isn't really worth 0.2% crit bonus. Blessed spirit shield is same stats as bandos warshield, has a larger prayer bonus, and is cheaper. So that should be your shield of choice. Rapier + EEE should do for most melee-based slayer tasks and such.
  22. A few days into the EoC, i'm wondering if anyone has an idea on these. Because I've been kinda' lazy to do any sort of in-depth testing, i thought i'd ask here first. -How balanced are weapons across types? Say i have a dust devil task. Since they're weak to crush, will i be best off with a cmaul? Duel dragon maces? Or has nothing really changed and i should just use raiper + EEE? Basically, i'm wondering if 1H and 2H are roughly equal in raw DPS, or if Jagex still has failed to balance both classes of weapons. I bought a Z spear and godsword, thinking that attack styles would be weighed heavily(And also thinking that 2Hs would have roughly the same DPS as duel wielding). But i'm doubting Jagex was able to balance them correctly. -Again about balancing: how balanced are combat types? Assuming that when you're maxed like I am, the weaknesses of monsters doesn't matter much. Is there one combat type that is best for slaying? -How much does using the wrong armor effect your accuracy? If you were getting attacked by multiple styles, would it be viable to wear different types of armors to diversify your defenses without destroying your accuracy? -Chaotics. I have a maul and rapier. With roughly 150k tokens, should i get an offhand(If so which one)? Or save up for a CCB/CS/CLS? -One more DG question. How much more effective is solo now since the EXP update/eoc? Is it a viable way of getting exp and tokens now? Or is it still too slow? If it is viable, what's the best to do? Multiple smalls or fewer mediums? Those are all the questions i could think about now, if i think of more i'll edit! Thanks!
  23. Paying off RS video makers to promote EoC, posts like this... Yup, Jagex is trying to keep people from quitting over EoC. Which is fine; i'm far from quitting completely because of EoC. And i think rage quitting because the combat system is changing to entail actual skill is childish... But this actually might make me play more this upcoming year. This list looks very, very promising. Bravo Jagex! Do your best to not disappoint!
  24. Buy a set of Verac's. All Barrows sets are equal to Bandos(Except for the minuscule prayer bonus bandos gives) except for the fact that Verac's has a superior prayer bonus.
