winamp + rs = :@

Yesterday I updated my comp (finally a new video card, that 2mb card was like 5 years old :o ) and decided to format c. Well today I've been installing programs and trying to get everything to work. Found this thing:

Winamp works very well when rs isn't open. When I open rs, the music seems to "slow down", it mumbles or something. Can't really explain it, but it just starts to sounds shi.. really bad.

Earlier I had no problems and it works really fine with Windows Media Player. I first used Winamp 2.xx (can't remember exact version) and now I'm trying on Winamp 3.0, same problem on both versions.

playing on high detail with rs sounds on?

That generally explains a lot. I get chunky music when I get two programs trying to play sound at once and one of which is really heavy on the cpu / ram.

Nope, low detail.

Hm, that's a little bit odd. I never ran into problems with winamp 2.x with Low detailed.

What are your system specs? It could just be that you have too many processes taking up the clock cycle *shrug*

Just updated from:

256mb ram -> 1gb ram

1,1ghz prosessor -> 1,75gb

2mb graphic card -> 128mb

Worked fine earlier and it must be some settings of Winamp, Windows Media Player works fine.

Yea - you really shouldn't have any problems with those specs.

Have you tried on 5.x yet? 3.x had some memory issues but 2.x should be solid.

Go through all your winamp settings and such, see if you can find the solution then. It might just be something as simple as using the classic skins :-?

I'll install 5 now. Tried like every setting and nothing seemed to work. Weird thing is that before I updated my comp everything worked fine on 2.xx.

Installed AC3filter and seems to work now :? Dunno why but doesn't bother me. Works and that's the most important thing <3

hmm... This seems weird, it seems to work once in a while. Oh well, not many of you have a slow motion button in Winamp.

And no I don't use Mcafee. I use Norton 2005.
