The random items are used as separators. Dividing the effigies up into which skills are needed.

 

48 of those effigies I have logged & are from Slayer.

 

Over 4.2m Xp - which is a 1/87500 ratio.

If I were to omit tasks that I wouldn't normally do it would be a bit lower & around 1 effigy every 2 hours from Slayer.
