Getting ready to do DGS

A friend has been teaching me the basics of DGing. I have a prom 2H, and I think next time we do DGing I will get the plate. What else do I need to do to dgs and how do I find a team that will help me learn the basics while getting good exp? Thanks

Shadow Silk Hood. Keep an eye out for night spiders and kill them any time you see one.

 

Also, upgrade your berserker ring to at least t5 (less than 3k tokens), but really t7 (~13k tokens) is optimal until you reach 90+

 

 

 

Other than that, look into the DG sweepers clan chat. You might be able to find some abandons there, although most people don't really do them anymore.

I have upgraded my ring for as many tokens as I have, but I will check again. What is an abandon? How can I find a 4 man team that can afford to take on a noobie and to train while teaching me? I should be a valuable asset once I learn the basics, as most of my skills are pretty high.

Honestly,from what I've seen of DGS, it's pretty much impossible to do a large 5:5 under F30. You can do 30 and 31, but other then that you're probably better off doing solo meds =/

 

Really, I think DGS should put a reccomended DG level of like 70. But other then that, definitely bind a Shadow Silk Hood if you see one.

You should continue using your lamps/tears/pengs on dg till 70. While a lot of our keyers don't do abandoned floors (f30-35), you can still find them in DGS (I personally do them). We'll help you learn, but it depends on your commitment to dungeoneering. If you're just going for a chaotic and frosts, you might have a hard time (we can always tell).

 

Also, having high non-combat stats isn't really a benefit if you're not keying. For example, your high non-combats would hurt me while I'm keying, as I don't have very high non-combats. You'd basically be following me around opening doors for me (I'm used to doing this, so it's not a problem - just sayin').

 

Look out for a night spiders and bind a hood as soon as you get one.

Ok so what should I do for now? It almost sounds like I need to be a keyer, but I need to learn a lot before then. How would I find a group that would take me?

 

Also, I dont even know much about a rapier, I just hear it is good, I really just want the farming and herblore scrolls right now to lessen the cost of herby and to increase my farming profits, and eventually I want 95 prayer so I would be doing frost to help me level prayer.

 

In terms of doing DGing to make money, I dont need it, I have $150M in free cash right now. I just want to learn how to do it to be able to be part of a team, make some new friends, like Blake, who is helping me right now. And I can hopefully help them in return, whether that is helping their DGing team, helping with effigies, or duoing high level monsters, that would be a lot of fun too.

You probably will need the $ if you ever plan on maxing your account one day. Even if you don't, you will run out of $ sometime. Also, you do not need to be a keyer, but knowledge of keying is recommended.
