Welfare DKs

Was wondering if it was possible to solo DKs with a very cheap setup, I have about 5m in the bank.

 

Have all dungeoneering items, overloads, turm, all achievement diary rewards. Torags/veracs armour, basically anything cheap. If anyone has links to recent guides that would be good, looked in guides forum, but most of them are out of date and require more wealth than i have.

Also any idea how much gp/hour it would gain? Have never done DKs before.

I'm not sure about how many gps/hour it would be with a welfare setup, it would definitely be possible. You could try youtube for some more recent guides. However, looking at your stats and quests point I would say money wise tormented demons with welfare gear would be the better money.

I suck at TDs lol, probably had about 300 kills in the 20+ hours ive been there :ohnoes: with no drops

Note I have 83 pray in that pic, just bought 95 pray.

Replace bandos chestplate with guthans/torags/dharok's body. Fury with glory. Frem boots 4.

Runes with csb + fires, and take an extra brew and use fire surge (a lot cheaper so not worth using ice barrage).

First 4 in yak should be brews, but same amount of potions overall.

You'll have less range def but ss + turm so idk if potions change much.

I think it's about 3m / h, so you could just do frosties which is about the same. I find dag kings a lot more fun though.

 

You'll be cannoning prime, and killing supreme / rex while they're alive.

Basically you enter, kill supreme with turmoil + mage pray, then set up cannon by prime's spawn point, fire it to kill prime and as soon as its firing safespot rex along the edges of the map. Consider using ice barrage your first time so you can easily deal with rex.

Then once rex is dead supreme is usually spawned, so kill him, going back and forth between supreme and rex.

Cannon should kill prime. Whenever prime is alive mage pray, it hits 490 max and accurate hits. If both supreme and rex are dead atm then you can range prime for a couple hits.

 

On 2nd thought tbh you should probably solo mage it or something you first time there. Tho you are 120 dng so maybe you are good enough at bosses to be fine..

Go with soup's setup. If verac's helm is too expensive, torag helm will provide better def but no prayer bonus. Also for your first trip, I would bring 4 ovl, 14 p pots and the rest brews.

 

This setup is for 2.5 bridding. There used to be a very good guide in general guides section of the forum but the author removed it. The basics of it is to pray mage at all times. Kill supreme first, then lure and safespot rex. Go back and kill supreme and repeat. If there you killed both supreme and rex before they respawn, start ranging prime.

 

For this you want to have 350+ def because you will be praying mage at all times so you need to tank supreme. Rex can be trapped around the edges of dks dungeon. Preferably, to the east of the dungeon so that if supreme spawns before you killing rex, it can't see you and attack you.

 

I wouldn't advise using cannon for your first trip because it might get too confusing for you. But if you do, place the cannon at where prime respawns (its like the south east corner of the red circle on your minimap in the dks dungeon). Fire it when you are killing supreme, don't fire it when you are killing rex or you might get killed by supreme spawning and attacking you.

 

Yakking the bones and hide should cover the cost of your pots.

 

If you are unfamiliar, Rex melees you, prime mages you and supreme ranges you.

Will use frem boots 4, so that means all bone drops will be noted right? So would it be worth banking hides, and would it be worth bringing uni+scrolls in yak for when i empty yak?

Yes all bone drops will be noted. I have no idea what an inventory for bringing a uni for afterwards would look like. Personally I like 100 min trips, but you might be able to add ~20-40 mins on your trip by brining a uni + more overloads + more prayer pots.

It's probably worth it, so experiment with setups once you've gotten a feel for it.
