^Heh, not really. It just tells us that we know that we dont know.

 

Also, please people genes have more role in making up "who" you are than perhaps anything else. The field of Genomics, compared to how far we've come in physics or chemisty is largely undeveloped due to those molecular interactions being highly specified and not very observable. Plus on that scale, everything is giant cluster [bleep], hence we come up with words like "epistasis" and QTL to make ourselves feel better. The field of biology in the next 15 - 20 years will completely overshadow space exploration, I'm certain.

 

To dan, imagine you're playing pool. The ball is the particle you're trying to observe. The heisenberg principle says that if you took a a really long exposure shot you'd see something like a smear right ? (yes). You can't tell where the ball is exactly over that exposure but you're certain in which direction it is going. Now take a very short shutter speed snapshot. It's a picture of just one ball, you can tell precisely it's position in space (the pool table), but have no idea of it's direction or it's velocity. (from that picture alone).
