WMF Vunerablility Test

Featured Replies

Brought to you be the University of Florida. This is safe, all it does is make a popup. If you are unsure if you are updated against this virus (most of you are ok now), run this page.

If your machine is vulnerable to the WMF exploit, you will see a popup message telling you that you are vulnerable. Please note that your anti-virus may detect some sort of script running and disable it, preventing the popup from running. You may still vulnerable if this is the case. Please read your anti-virus warning carefully to determine if it is catching the WMF exploit itself, or catching a script attempting to run. If the script is attempting to run, then it means other WMF exploits will likely succeed in compromising your computer and you are not secure. If you are running firefox, you will be prompted whether or not to open the test file. If you open the test file and do not see the popup, you are not vulnerable. If you chose to open the file and do see the popup, please be aware that your system is still vulnerable, and not all attacks will use Firefox (which has the added security of asking before opening the file).

 I use Firefox, no chance of a problem here. All I got was I dialog box asking what I want to do with the wmf file (open, download, etc.) Just hit cancel and continue on. I don't understand what they mean by opening the file in Firefox. Firefox is not able to read or open wmf files :?

The problem is when you SAVE the image to your computer, then open it.

Try opening that file, then see about it.

I tried opening it in MS word and got a bunch of garbage showing up in my doc. So I tried inserting it a picture and got nothing. I have no security updates or patches on my PC, so I think their little test doesn't work properly.
