Help with summoning

Featured Replies

I'm currently trying to plan ahead for the *rumored* upcoming bonus xp weekend. I currently have around 500 blues, 2.6k crimson, 3k green, and 5k gold charms at level 80 summoning. I should have 81 summoning by the time bonus xp comes around, from peng points.

In order to get the max xp on the weekend, for a reasonable price, what should I make with each of my charms? I plan on collecting some of the seconds myself, as this would help to save me a few mil. Please post any suggestions here. Thank you =D

Sorry if I crushed a dream of yours but Summoning is most likely capped at 1.1x XP during the entire BXPW.

You should (almost) always make the highest levelled familiars as they give the most XP. If you're patient enough you should save all your blues for when you reach 89 Summoning (Geyser titans).

I can't help you much on collecting the secondary ingredients. Try looking the item(s) up on rs wiki, you should find some information on how to obtain them.

I thought it was usually capped at 1.2x? Which is still better than the usual experience. I was planning on saving the blues, but I want to get to 88 Summoning on the Bonus weekend. Was hoping to get some advise on cost-friendly familiars to make more so with the green, then the gold to finish off the weekend. I was planning on making granite lobsters with all of my crimsons, and mining my own granite.

Most of the secondary items are pretty darn hellish to collect.

TBH, you should make sure that you either have enough money/supplies/whatever to use up all of the BXP weekend bonus (so before it gets to 1.1x which is the lowest multiplier).

Then you should do a combination of money making/charm hunting for the charms and right before it starts - you can use a calculator to see what you should make.

Basically you would use all your gold first, then green, then your crimsons. By using all your [cabbage] charms, you might be able to get to a level where you can get a lot more exp for your crimsons.

You're not too far away - so keep your blues for Geyser (or just regular level 79 titans because they're so much cheaper)

The slowest part about summoning is the charm collecting by far so here are some decent ways to get charms:

-Slayer (most of the tasks give good charm rates - off the top of my head, anything you can access in Kuradel is not bad, although hellhounds tend to drop a bunch of gold and gargoyles don't drop often but they do drop a good amount of blues)

-Wfs (you should be looking to do them at AC)

-Black Demons (great to cannon in Tav for now because they're pretty bot free and they give effigies)

-Cannoning Kalphites - great source of blues

-Bursting/Barraging rock lobsters - it's tedious but one of the best charm drop rates in the game (second to Wfs in CT- charm wise I believe)

TBH, granites are so cheap - you might as well just buy them off the G.E.

It seems to me that money is a bit of a problem for you.

Go to green dragons in the CT - they're easy to kill, give pretty decent gp/hr and they do drop charms pretty often.

Obviously green dragons aren't a prolific charm dropper - but they are one of the best gp/hr and you'd be killing two birds with one stone.

Thanks a lot for you help litter. I have about 45m cash stack, but I'm trying to save as much of it as I can to put towards 95 prayer. I already have 96 herb banked for the start of the bonus weekend, though, so summoning is really the only other thing that needs taken care of before it begins.

It would still be a waste to waste your 2.2x multiplier (or whatever it is) if you're going to summon during it.

You might as well go for maxed skills, if you don't want to waste money - you can do slayer/thieving/hunter/wc/rc/agility (you get the point)

Alternatively, if you feel prayer is more important then summoning, you can start merching and buy dragon bones during BXP weekend.

Prayer gets the bonus but it's not as high as the altar - so nobody would be really training prayer during BXP.

You could just merch a lot/flip/take advantage and stock pile on resources only to flip it to make enough for turmoil when the updates hit.

I was planning on waiting until the end, and doing agility until it hits the 1.1 or 1.2, whichever summoning is capped at. Flipping does sound like a good idea for some quick cash during the weekend tho. Thanks for the help!
