Becoming skulled

Recommended Posts

I've never been one for the wilderness or pking, so never really considered how the skulling system works gutter than "if I attack someone in the wildy, i'l get skulled"

So, at the risk of sounding like a complete noob, could someone explain becoming skulled in detail? Such as what happens if I retaliate onto another player, etcetc

Just started doing chaos ele for a bit of fun and seeking out a d2h drop (must get all dragon drops...) so figured it's best I find this out properly so I can risk a few more items without worrying :P

If you initiate combat with someone or their summon or enter the Abyss you become skulled for 20 minutes.

If a person attacks you and you attack that same person back within a certain timeframe you won't be skulled.

If you're skulled for any reason you automatically lose all items on death. Unless you have protect 1-item on in which case you keep 1 item (unless your prayer hits 0 through smite or time). In a high-risk world protect 1-item doesn't work if you're skulled.

If you're not skulled you'll keep 3 items on death and 4 items with protect 1-item (unless your prayer hits 0 which means it's 3 again).

In summary, don't attack a person, summons, or enter the Abyss if you want to avoid being skulled. No matter how tempting it is to fight back.

You will get skulled if you enter the abyss or attack another player. If you get attacked, you will NOT be skulled.

If skulled you lose all items, or one item if using protect item prayer.

How about if my yak retaliates onto someone?

Your yak would only fight back if attacked so you wouldn't become skulled.
