KyoIchigaki
Ok, here we go...recently I did the Cold War quest and, as an experiment, used the Surefooted Aura to help me do the agility course therein flawlessly. In fact, I'm the reason that the Surefooted Aura is now in the suggested item list for that quest. I'm sure that everyone who first saw the Surefooted Aura could immediately sense the value in it...20 minutes of worry-free agility training? Hell yeah! And just TRY taking it to the Agility Dungeon in Brimhaven =) But as far as I know, I'm the first one to try using it in a quest where passing an agility course is required to complete the quest. Yet there are so many quests where this and other auras can be useful...unfortunately, some of which I have already finished. These quests for the Surefooted Aura are: Underground Pass (imagine if you could've used it to get to the final boss battle!), Legend's Quest (did anybody else HATE that stupid hill???) and Regicide (or any other quests that involve going through the elven forest--or for that matter, just walking around in that Guthix-forsaken forest!!!) Also, has anyone tried using the Sharpshooter Aura for the Underground Pass quest? I mean, I know that the difference is likely unmeasurable, but I did have the idea. Finally, the Poison Purge Aura actually causes poison damage to heal rather than harm...has anyone considered using it in Tiranwyn (sp?)? Sir_Squab
Gotta say, if sure-footed works on quest obstacles... you obviously haven't done MEP2 or you probably would have mentioned that. Most of the elf quests it'd be useful in. Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.[spoiler=The rest of my sig. brunokiller
Does it work on the underground pass obstacles? If so, that'd be amazing. My blog
KyoIchigaki
It should, unless the underground pass obstacles run off their own random chance engine rather than using the agility skill. that's why i'm wondering if anyone has tried it yet, because even if it did use your agility stat to determine rate of failure, Jagex might still have changed it with the release of the Aura Song you MUST learn as it will better you as a person: Swinging on a Star by Bing Crosby
KyoIchigaki
And now I have a good example of what I was talking about in my previous post. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/803/proofinisafdar.png/ This is an image I took while in Isafdar to recharge my bow. I decided to test and see if the surefooted aura will protect me from the traps there. It did not T_T. Which I believe proves that the traps there are NOT agility based, but work off their own random-success engine. Octarine
It seems that this aura would be very useful for quests but rather hard to confirm if it works. It may have only worked well in Cold War due to the obstacles actually being part of a course. I don't have the aura myself, so could you test the aura on some agility obstacles that are not parts of agility courses? Preferably ones that're possible to fail regardless of level (such as the steeping stones to the lighthouse)For the future we'll keep auras in mind for quests, especially if they end up to be as useful as working on MEP2 for instance. (if it did that is) EDIT: Following up on this from a while back, since we haven't really determined any new areas where the aura works, there isn't really anything to add to the site currently. HOWEVER, auras will be carefully considered in upcoming guides, and there are a few places such as kethsi and the underground pass that are very much like agility courses that the aura may work on, I will be making a note of this and it will be tested as and when we can.If anything comes of this of course you will be credited, and any contributions related to this are welcome in future.Any questions, feel free to PM me :)~Oct Edited October 18, 2011 by Octarine19 Closing topic plus some final remarks Blog of DG, Bossing (mostly Glacors) and stuff - Runetrack Play Safe! - Got useful information for the tip.it website?
