At point 39. in the WGS guide, it says

 

"Note: To get the armour pieces you MUST kill the level-138 knights. Killing the warriors, rangers or mages will not work. If you kill the knights only you will get all three armour pieces in your first three kills."

 

I've killed 7 and only gotten two pieces (Im 1000% positive i was killing the correct ones/didnt miss loot etc)

 

Nowhere on the guide does it list buying these armour pieces through the GE/other players to save a whole lot of time/invent of supplies. Could be helpful to add for those who'd rather buy the set then worry about fighting for it.

Did you notice if you got your two armour pieces in the first two kills, or were they randomly dispersed through your 7 kills? I did this quest recently with a friend and both of us got our armour pieces in the exact first three kills.

 

Either way, thanks for the suggestion. I will go ahead and throw that in the tips and tricks at the bottom.

I am pretty sure this has been discussed in the past multiple times, maybe in those threads there is something that would explain it.

When I did the quest, I got the armour killing just 3. But I have to agree that buying it at G.E. would be better. I almost died!!
