Bandos boots need +2 strengh

Bandos boots need a +2 strength boost. They are part of Bandos armor set, yet is the only armor piece that doesn't give strength bonus. This brings to a situation where most players choose to wear Dragon boots together with Bandos chestplate and tassets, as they have -1 defence and -1 prayer, but a whooping +4 strength.

This situation greatly devalues Bandos boots (currently just a tiny bit costlier than dragon ones despite them being dropped by much stronger NPC's and rarer), punishes player wanting to look good in full Bandos (and not like silly jester in red and brown) and makes the set not as flavorful as it could be.

The addition of +2 strength would make Bandos boots exactly equal in positive stats to dragon boots, with a difference that the former would provide +1 defence and +1 prayer, while the later would trade that for +2 strength.

The change would increase the flavor of Bandos set (all pieces of it will provide strength bonus), make it a viable alternative to dragon boots (equal positive stats with some small twists), increase their price thus increasing the profitability of General Graardor) and give some small boost to people wanting to look good in full Bandos while not sacrificing efficiency.

To sum it:

1) adding +2 strength to Bandos boots doesn't unbalance any content in Runescape at all - there are already dragon boots with similar stats and +4 strenght;

2) it increases the available choices of equipment to players while not decreasing the appeal of other items;

3) it makes a small fraction of the game more flavorful and better with very VERY little effort.

I have posted on the same topic in RSOF - [qfc]277-278-782-63254149[/qfc]. Support would be appreciated.

The smart thing to do would be swap around the stats of dragon and bandos, possibly giving all the slayer boots including dragon a significant defense boost and taking away the strength boost.

It's just silly that bandos, a low defense, high offense armour has defensive boots, while dragon, high defense no offense, has offensive boots.

It's all or nothing i'm afraid, if they were to be given 2 strength while dragon remains 4, no one would use them and their price would not change much at all, due to rune and rock climbing boots giving the same strength, and dragon and the new ones being superiour.

This change would make +4 strength boots more of a rarity, as bandos boots are uncommon, increasing the price of both bandos and the new ones.

Of course jagex will never do this. They resent admitting they made a mistake so much they'd let their game fall to pieces before doing so. But it's nice to dream.

Yes, of course the boots are an odd piece, favoring defense over attack unlike other Bandos armor, but it's dragon boots that warp the picture, having perhabs higher str bonus than they should at their level and rarity. But a full rebalance of boots would take much more thinking and effort and any nerfing of dragon boots would certainly enrage a large part of player. Also it would feel awkward for Bandos boots to have double the str boost of Bandos tassets, and I don't know if this would be a good idea to increase theirs.

The strength of my advice lies in the simplicity and harmlessness of it. +2 str would be very in place compared to other boosts from Bandos and will not obsolete other boots. Also, they will become less strictly worse than Dragon's and sometimes even on par. If +4 str vs. +1 def/+1 prayer was a no-brainer, a +2 str vs +1def/+1 prayer is less obvious. Don't forget to consider the better looks of Bandos boots when weared with the set, and you will see their use will increase.

People already pay 16 million for the +2 str of bandos tassets so EVEN if it had +2 str people would still use the d boots and even pay the 7mil for +1 def and +2 accuracy of steadfast boots.

Not everyone would do that, as:

1) not everyone has that much money

2) not everyone is mad about strength bonuses

I think everyone agrees that adding +2 str boosts to Bandos boosts would clearly improve this unused equipment and make the whole set more flavorful (every piece will add a str bonus) How much it would improve it's use remains to be seen, thought it clearly would be more often than now.

This suggestion sounds primarily aesthetic. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it would be cool being able to wear full Bandos without sacrificing strength. There just isn't much point in changing the existing statistics at this point. Bandos boots will barely increase in value as a result, there's already plenty of them in circulation and people will still opt for dragon boots for the additional +2 strength near identical defence, although they may briefly spike after such an update.

Wait a minute, Bandos boots have ZERO strength bonus?

Did they nerf it or has it always been like this!?

Wow you're totally right, it totally devalues the boots by a lot...

i mean they look cool and all, but if they dont even do anything then they're worthless :/

People usually equip the boots to prevent Bandos troops from attacking them in GWD. Otherwise it is much better to use dragon boots.
