I know that these things boost rates when it comes to pickpocketing. Do they also work on wall safes in the Rogue's Den?

I'm inclined to believe that they don't.

Wall safes at the Rogues' Den are botted to heck anyway.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

They only work for pickpocketing, nothing else. The lore idea being the gloves of silence make you're movements hidden or stealthy (eg silent) thus allowing you to pick a pocket without being caught, but of no benefit to any other form of thieving.
