1.1 Aboot me

 

Well what can I say, I've been playing this game for over 10 years now, getting onto my 11th year soon. I started when I was a wee lad of 12 years old. Got into this game from dat there Neopets through a friend of mine. Thought it was rubbish and put it down. Found it again in Late 2001 and gave it a whirl on this account and here I am now 10 years onwards, at the age of 22.

 

Onto some real world facts about myself, again, I'm 22. I live in Singapore, a small tiny dot near Malaysia and Indonesia. I'm half Chinese half Indonesian. The name's Rohandy, those of you who remember me1 as that from HYT chat, now you know what Rohandy is, its me name! I don't play that many other games besides RuneScape these days, getting bored of the same old generic gameplay. Other than Runescape I play Deus Ex: Human Revolution A LOT, having played the original Deus Ex in 2001, it gives me a lot of nostalgia. I like to beast on Super Street Fighter 4 AE PC. I beast on the keyboard wit dat. I main Akuma because of the vortex-style play which really fascinates me. My favourite player is Tokido. My strength is in execution where I have learnt to plink and double tap on the keyboard. Obviously 360 moves are my weak point when using characters like Seth and Zangief. Besides those two nah I'm not really into games anymore. Just waiting for DotA 2 to be released and perhaps back into the competitive scene.

 

In my other free time not on the computer I like chilling with friends, smoking a cig or two, drinking a pint or two. I've put my drinking days behind me where I was a drunkard teen who almost got himself killed in one occasion due to haphazard drinking. Too much partying when I was a teen now I enjoy the occasional drink in a nice jazz bar, not too noisy, not too hard liquor.

 

 

Have just finished my stint in what's called National Service in the Singapore Civil Defence Force. Alternative names for National Service are Conscription and National Slavery. Unlike South Korea or Iraq we are in a state of peace but we have to serve 2 years in the Army, Police, or Civil Defence section, and that is by far the longest conscription length for any peacetime country. But enough about that! Currently I'm doing substitute teaching at a local secondary school and furthering on hopefully into studying to be a full time teacher. I've been teaching for 2 months now, and the next 3 months are coming in January, before I start school.

 

More wall of text going on, I was teaching Geography for the last two months and now I'm probably going to take over another subject. Its amazing how different it looks when you're on the other side of the warzone that is the classroom. I have now realised what an ass of a student I was when I face 30-40 of these monsters on a daily basis. That gives me an edge, however, as I was also not from the best of schools, and a nightmare for my teachers, whereas most of my colleagues were from good, well behaved, privately funded schools. Immediately I knew what I was about to face in the classroom. Blah blah blah lets move on to what this blog is about! Corping!

1.1 The Name

I get comments about my name so damn much I thought I'd dedicate a whole section to the making of MyGodIsWeird. The name does not actually refer to any Deity of any kind, I am, for all intents and purposes, an agnostic. I believe in a higher power, but not a biblical or quranic or whatever God. But we'll leave that matter out, my beliefs are mine, yours are yours. It actually comes from a song from the KidneyThieves called the "Taxi Cab Messiah". The chorus goes something like "My god is weird, my god is scared, my god he paints a pretty picture" Its one of my favourite songs having heard it from Deus Ex: Invisible War(Atrocious game by the way), and I got sick of my actual name being my RSN so I changed it! Hah!

1.3 Why corp?

 

Well I've been getting bored of Runescape, I kid you not. I had the time of my life when I came back after a 2 year hiatus last year in June, but since then things have gotten a bit stale. I came back with eff-all for stats and a bank of 20 million gp, having given away all my rares and phats when i quit a while ago, not that I really mind anyway. Most of the fun I got from Runescape was earning money for my goals and levels and recently I reached my ultimate goal: A Divine Spirit Shield.

 

I have never diced, I have never staked, I have not been insanely lucky with drops, what with only 2 boots a tasset and chestplate and duo hilt in over 200 bandos solos and another 200 duos. That's pretty average. Only insane luck drop I had was trio Double Arma Hilt during double drops weekend. Most of my money, however was gained through grinding and grinding at the dagannoth kings where they have been generous with their drops. I must've gotten over 60-70 zerker rings over the past year from those things. That said, after finally getting my Divine Spirit Shield, having already had 99 herblore and 96 prayer, I kinda felt something was.... lacking. (So much for getting onto what this blog is actually about)

 

On and on I solo'd bandos, getting frustrated, solo'd arma, getting more frustrated at the lack of drops. Solo'd every god damn thing under the sun. I was really frustrated with the hideous drop rates. Recently I had just gotten a rune kite and a rune square back to back at bandos then a crasher comes with full crashing gear(fire cape, neitz full bandos spec restores etc.), double specs my bandos and gets a bandos chestplate drop. I nearly lost it, that was the second time I got crashed and someone got chestplate/tassets. I raged and logged the hell out. Here comes my inspiration to CORP.

 

2.1 The BEAST

 

The Corporeal Beast is a fearsome one to solo. At level-785 its not exactly the easiest thing to kill let alone solo. I had finally done it, I solo'd corp, I felt jubilant, I had done biggest baddest monster soloable. It then struck me, why not try for a solo SIGIL drop! Then my Runescape life would be complete and maybe I can finally quit. Or work for full pernix. :P

Yes that is a divine rapier combo for corp. Besides ZS its equally as good even through the damage reduction because its so accurate, allowing for kills without defence reducing specs. It is also in my opinion the most 'cost-effective' way to solo corp. Aura used will be penance/reverence depending on which is charged.

 

 

2.2 The DROP LOG

 

Yes the drop log. I will be updating this at the end of the day after all my corp beast runs. I'll be running corp for as long as I can until I go bankrupt or just get plain bored of it, or get a divine sigil and completely lose it. Basically as of 16/12/2011, I have done a grand total of EIGHT, yes BLOODY EIGHT Corps. Yea its not a huge amount but I need something to keep me going and this drop log will hopefully make me not quit.

Corp with rapier? :blink:

Rapier is only comparable to zs with the use of divine. I down corp easily solo in 15 minutes. Only rapier damage is capped the accuracy is still there in all its glory. One huge advantage over zs solo is that you dont need to do spec preps. With zs you're pretty screwed if your damage lowering spec messes up. With divine i can take down corp in 15 mins tops without prep runs.

 

I also take more super restores then brews which saves some money when you consider brews are 13k ea and restores at 8k. I manage 3 corp kills per hour which isnt that far off zs.(maybe zs does 4/hr?)

 

 

Not to mention its so relaxing with divine. He maxes at like 320 with all the reductions.

I can finally quit..

Rapier is only +9 stab more accurate than the spear by the way. If you really wanted to be efficient you'd equip spear and attack, equip divine and take hit, equip spear and attack... But this is hard to do and soulsplit flick at the same time. If you try it i highly recommend getting goliath gloves, so if you fail to equip the spear you still get a good hit. (Comparable to whip. Not much worse than rapier)

I was actually thinking of the spear divine method. Dont know how feasible it is to do that in conjunction with soul split as well. Given that i get 200 ping minimum i do feel slight delay in my inputs. Singapore is really too far away to get sub 100 ping on any world.

 

 

On another note I'm planning to take a video during my solo. I was supposed to do it like right now but damn power outage in my apartment block and the power supply isn't stable atm so no go :-(

Nice goal! I'd be happy to do a few duos with you any time, I'd have to buy my ely back I guess, but 5 min > 15 min kill tbh? :lol:

Good luck with dat sigil drop, and the Zs/Div/Soulsplit flicking is difficult, but I beive it's possible with practice!
