March 1, 201214 yr In case any of you are interested, here is a sneak peak into some of the filming locations of Peter Jackson's The Hobbit which is currently being filmed in New Zealand. For those of you that don't know, it is a standalone sort of prequel to Lord of the Rings. This was posted of SirE Peter Jackson's Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150720773691807&set=vb.141884481557&type=2&theater Note, there are several other production videos on that page, well worth watching to give you and insight to the amount of work that goes into production.

March 1, 201214 yr Been watching all of those vids as soon as they come out. I seriously can't wait for these movies. It's going to be so amazing. Also, as wrong as it may sound, I'm kinda happy PJ is gaining weight again. Reminds me of all the BTS footage I saw from the LOTR movies. Really feels like we're going back. :D Gah, can't wait!@ EDIT: New Zealand is absolutely amazing. That footage in that vid and previous vid is just stunning. I'd love to vacation there someday. March 2, 201214 yr Author It's pretty cool seeing some of these locations I've been to before, just a few hours away. The thing that really opened my eyes was the scale of production, particularity the huge piece of scaffolding ramp/walkway up the mountain to protect the vegetation. Plus all the helicopters etc, you can see how costs can mount up pretty quickly.
