Zatochii
Hello, I'm really curious as to how hard the Nomad fight is now with all these updates like flasks and gear, how hard is the nomad fight? I cant afford the 80m+ gear but i might be able to afford the Ganodermic gear if that's better than d'hide. I have extremes and i can get the flasks for brews/restores as well if need be just need some ideas on inventory/setup and bob invo.
crabman27
Hey, at your level it shouldn't be that difficult at all with all the new gear. Ganodermic is the first thing you should buy, the magic defence makes him hit far less often. To be honest flasks are pretty overkill for the price, especially since you would use rocktail. Ganodermic Top and Legs, neitiznot helm, barrows gloves, drag defender, Whip vine? or best weapon (I think he's weak to stab), drag boots, ardy/fire cape, fury ect.. Invent have an ext set 1 or 2 brews, super restores 3 or 4 pray pots and the rest rocktail with a tortoise/yak full of them. Bandos godsword/claws for special. Since you can't SS the entire fight either just piety or maybe prot mage, not sure how effective it is. When he moves into his last stage prot from melee helps. Zatochii
I was looking at the stats on D'hide and Ganodermic and it doesn't look like they are that much different in stats (d'hide having more mage defence). Anyone mind explaning how Ganodermic outdoes d'hide?
Quyneax
Wait what... you must've been comparing the wrong armours. [item=11863] 120 magic defence, 34% magic soak [item=2365] 50 magic defence, 6% magic soak [item=11866] This is one tier below ganodermic actually, and still has 52 magic defence and 10% magic soak, requiring only level 55 magic and defence. Edit @ below: ganodermic degrades almost entirely to nothing - it starts at 3m and after it's done you have roughly 3 gp worth of armour left. It's worth it for the fight caves, Nomad and kiln, but if you're safespotting with magic keep in mind it's quite expensive and no better than Ahrim's. Zatochii
I guess i was lol, definetly going to be getting ganodermic gear since it looks like it will be useful in more than one way for training stats. Alright i got my Ganodermic armor and with everything crab said (gear wise) im at 189 mage defence w/ 46% mage absorb and 22% range absorb. What weapon should i be using? He mentioned the Whip Vine but i'm not sure if i should be using that or the Z spear or ranging.
Quyneax
Whip vine > zspear > ranged. Magic and chaotic rapier beat all of those. If you can, use Storm of Armadyl with an Armadyl battlestaff and maximize your magic attack bonus (so not dragon boots or defender). It's the fastest and easiest way to complete the caves. Polypore staff is a strong second, much cheaper and slower but it doesn't require Ritual of the Mahjarrat. Melee is great for fast caves but has as downside that you must kite the 360s. You stand one step away from them and move in to melee only when they are using their magic attack, for .6 seconds at the time. It's easier than it sounds but also takes a little bit of practice. Zatochii
How much does it cost to recharge ganodermic once it's fully broken? also on your last post you mentioned caves, not sure if that was a typo or not but im doing the end of Nomad's Reqium bossfight so i can get my SW cape. Quyneax
:wall: Sorry I'm stupid. If it's any excuse fight caves topics are way more common and they also use ganodermic. For Nomad, just melee, nothing special. Gano top is 3m per charge.
