How did they manage to nerf effigies?

I quit ages ago and only recentlly came back. This is the first I've heard of this.

 

Would someone be able to explain this shit to me?

Pretty much made effigies 3x (or so it seems) rarer than they already were. And you can't stock up on them anymore either. After the 5th effigy, you cant receive them as a drop anymore until you open at least one of those 5 effigies. And not to mention they get even rarer should you decide to keep them.

Leik pretty much covered it, but just to reiterate.

 

1) Effigies drops are now much rarer (about 3* rarer most people seem to think currently)

2) Once you have 5 effigies you cannot receive anymore, if you previously stock piled them you won't get any drops until you have 4 or less.

3) Every effigy you do own between 1 and 5 makes their drops rarer. So if you bank an effigy they become rarer, if you then bank a second they become rarer still and so on until you get a 5th and can no longer receive them.
