So here is the story. I've just returned to RS at the end of May - I recovered my account because I though I'd forgotten my password. Just now I was happily fletching away when someone who was on my f/l (but I don't remember adding and you'll see why) message me to say: Hi, please reply my friend says that you hacked his account!

I was like WHAT?!?!?!?!? After having a chat with this guy who was obviously quite suspicious of his friend it transpires that his friend claimed that my account was 'his old account that he had botted up'. Anyway bit worried by this partly because this guy said his mate had only been using my account for the last month. I hadn't been on RS at all for the last 9-10 months before returning in May - I've also changed computers since then so I couldn't of been keylogged or whatever. All my information for my recoveries etc has no relation to my real identity and no-one knows the email I have registered to my RS account.

 

Basically I'm a bit confused as to how on earth this person could've accessed my account! Do I need to do anything? Whats also very strange is nothing seemed to have changed on my account - it was left with all its items none of the skills changed - though admittedly I wouldn't of noticed a few levels probably - my memories not perfect.

So basically this is all off of trusting a complete stranger?

Well that and I also received the mad Necklace despite only beginning my subscription on May the 22nd.

Well you didn't begin your subscription may 22nd if you got the necklace.

I suppose this is rather obvious. But shouldn't you have noticed if your account already had a subscription when you first logged in after recovering it? Also that your bank and stats had changed if this is true?
