June 21, 201214 yr Oh yeah, just thought I'd point out that Carreon is filing the lawsuit on his own, it's not being done as the lawyer of Funnyjunk, and he's using his own resources for it. It also seems that he is calling Inman untrustworthy because he's adding to two extra charities to the BearLove Good. Cancer Bad. fundraiser.Inman's idea to add two more charities is another act that shows the risk of money being raised for one purpose to be diverted to another. For example, I raise money for an Israeli charity to pay for trips to the Holy Land, but then decide that half the money should go to Palestinian orphans, or more disturbingly, to Hezbollah, which also has a charity wing. It's one more reason why IndieGoGo should not contract with agents like Inman who do not know that adding charities to a campaign is obviously bait and switch false advertising. Is it just me, or does the bolded bit kind of hint that he doesn't like Palestinians? June 23, 201214 yr Sort of. Donating to help Palestinian orphans is only a little bit disturbing. Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. Comes out of Satan, mother[bleep]er! nn--ngh! pushes Camera guy down Camera guy: Hoooholy [bleep]! Matt: FUNNY ISN'T REAL! FUNNY ISN'T REAL!
June 24, 201214 yr No, what he's saying is that The Oatmeal is pulling a bait and switch on all the donators by saying they'll donate to Charities 1 and 2, and then later adding 2 more charities to the mix. Since he lives in a world full of hyperbolic banter, that's the same as collecting money for an Israeli cause only to donate it to Palestinian children at the last minute. Because everyone knows the other two charities the Oatmeal is donating to are the "[bleep] BEARS LET'S HUNT" charity and the Society for the Progress of the Spreading of Cancer.
June 25, 201214 yr Even so his lawsuit is baseless. He wanted a settlement, and the settlement was refused. So he can sue TheOatmeal over the issue raised by that settlement. However TheOatmeal is no required by any law to pay the settlement. Even if he were to successfully sue TheOatmeal with the original charges, the money gathered for those charities is not TheOatmeal's.It belongs to those charities, as it is THEM that the donators gave them to. Trying to take the money from the charities is so stupid I still can't wrap my mind around it.And this new suit would at worst force TheOatmeal to ONLY give to the original two charities. Giving Funnyjunk even a dime of that donation money would not only be blatant robbery of the charities, but also of EVERY donor who contributed. What I see right now is a greedy man who tried to intimidate his way into getting some money, and is so enraged at OTHER people getting what he sees as his own money that he's basically suing everything that moves. The only difference between Hitler and the man next door who comes home and beats his kids every day is circumstance. The intent is the same-- to harm others.[hide=Tifers say the darndest things]I told her there was a secret method to doing it - and there is - but my once nimble and agile fingers were unable to perform because I was under the influence.I would laugh, not hate.
