It has the effect of purging them and denies them the damage they would have done to the sequence, placing us back on track with the total actual posts in the thread. The original intent in this thread was always to just be one after the other without losing track of position, resulting in the 30,001st post being the actual "who won", as it all comes down to strategy and/or timing. We could have tried not resyncing using true post count after those disrupting posts, but then the count would take a lot longer to actually count down and inflate the total posts to the thread far too extremely. Given the total posts so far to this thread, can you imagine how many additional years it would take to finish the game? I think we happened to be theorizing that it would be sometime near 2020 already? I'll admit, it does push along the position at the point of correction, possibly decreasing the number that you'll actually post by a little bit.
