safe mode

Yes, don't use safe mode, thinking that since it's the worst GFX, it will be fastest. Only use it if nothing else works whatsoever. I know for me that running higher settings makes the game run faster. I can barely play in software, but it works fine in DirectX.

Working on max and completionist capes.

This, Jmods from the graphics team even confirmed safe-mode uses more memory than the higher settings a while back. It's not a setting designed to be low-graphics fast it's a setting designed to render things in an entirely different more memory hogging way to escape from any major issues software/opengl/directx throw up.
