July 31, 201213 yr Looking into starting monkey madness, After reading the guide on here it seems my combat level may be too low for it. Im currently 57 combat. Whats a level i should shoot for before starting this quest? I gotta use a dragon scim (love scims) Thanks in advance!
July 31, 201213 yr It's hard to say if we don't know your stats. My advice would be to do the quest and if you can't beat the boss after a few tries, train a little more.
July 31, 201213 yr Author Totally spaced posting my stats. 46 attack 49 strength 41 defence 44 constitution 38 mage and 34 range. I fulfill all other requirements.
July 31, 201213 yr There's really no point in attempting the quest unless you can wield a dscim (which isn't even a great weapon anymore).
July 31, 201213 yr Author Ive been working on slayer to get it up, Its just such a slow process. Unless im doing it wrong or something
July 31, 201213 yr Author Slayer level is only 25 atm. I just go talk to a slayer master, normally the one in canafis then i go find the mob and kill it. I wear full rune with a rune scim and some food normally.
July 31, 201213 yr You should start using offensive prayers and potting. That will speed you up drastically. If you want to be really cheap, you can use simple combat potions. But really, the other pots are not expensive at all. Working on max and completionist capes. 2435/2475
July 31, 201213 yr Author I use strength and attack pots here and there. What other pots could i use? I almost never use prayer too be honest, guess i should start using it more
July 31, 201213 yr All you really need is attack and strength potions. You can use the super versions as well. And well prayer potions too.Other than that, you don't really need defence potions, as you should be prayer protection prayers if you are getting hit a lot. I would strongly recommend you use both potions and prayer all the time. Working on max and completionist capes. 2435/2475
July 31, 201213 yr Use super attack and strength potions on every task. You shouldn't have much trouble affording them. Use the best attack and strength prayers you can. If you have trouble affording prayer pots, try using proselyte or initiate armor and doing herb runs. Also, make sure you use a black mask.
July 31, 201213 yr Dwarf cannon will also help.Dwarf cannons only speed up melee xp in the sense that you spend less time doing tasks that give unfavorable melee xp. However, this isn't really the case.
July 31, 201213 yr Mb, that makes sense. I was thinking general slayer, i forgot he needed melee xp haha
July 31, 201213 yr I don't want to give the impression that he shouldn't cannon. He definitely should – it's a huge increase to his dps, especially since his combat level is so low. I'd estimate that his slayer xp/hour would at least double if he cannoned as much as possible. His melee xp/hour will take a hit, but it's more than worth it.
July 31, 201213 yr Author I totally forgot about using a cannon, not a bad idea at all. Im gonna stock up on pots and whatnot for sure. should seriously help me out. Thanks for all of the advice guys
