Rune/Zerker Pures & EoC

Featured Replies

With the EoC update incoming I was curious what all you zerker/rune pures plans were for EoC? I unfortunately had to adopt my rune pure as my main when my other acc got stolen and was curious if rune pures will still be a viable pking machine with the new combat system. Also is there any restrictions for us with the new update? i.e are we still able to do barrows and higher level monster farm? I understand the combat formula is (x+def+2=cmb)??

Depending on your advice/answers I might just turn it into a main with half asses skill levels lol

Sorry for my ignorance (: I haven't played much of the beta at all unfortunately but look forward to the update! Doesn't take a genius to see how outdated the combat system really is -.-

Recently came back to RS after around a 2 year break with the occasional login for the EoC!

you'll need 50 defence now, since rune got bumped up.

Is that all? Are we still able to own pking or is it all a matter of trial and error when its actually released?

You should probably just try EOC for yourself if you are a member. Just click the import save, go to lumbrige and there are vendors there with free armor and supplies.

Well basically if you wish to continue wearing rune, youre gonna have to get 50 Def. For Pking you're probably going to want to get higher Attack too. I'll use myself as an example so you get a better understanding of what i mean.

Right now i have 45 Def, 60 Att and 95 Str with 95 Prayer. Most of the people i fight have pretty much the same stats with some of them having lower Str but higher Attack. So it all kind of levels out. Come EOC with the new combat formula there's the chance that i'll fight people with the same Str, but a much higher Attack meaning they'll have access to much better weapons at the same combat whilst having the same Str as me. This puts me at a disadvantage.

In terms of Defense things won't change too much because you're most likely just going to PvP against other Zerkers or maybe 60 - 70 Def pures with a lower Attack and Str. But in terms of DPS you're going to be at a disadvantage if you're a 60 Attack Zerker like me.

So to sum things up. A good Zerker build will now be something like 50 Def, 95 Prayer, 90+ Str, 90+ Attack and 94 Mage (for Venge).

Yeah pures in general are a much risky game in EoC.

Say you were some kind of pure with ur highest combat stat being 99 str and then having low hp, att etc etc and say 50 def.

You'd be combat level 151.

Do you know who else might be level 151?

A player with 99 att, str, hp, prayer, ranged, mage, summoning and 50 def.

Why not stay 35 or 40 def rather than 50? The only defensive ability you need is freedom.
